The Dragon Flights

So, you really gotta wonder what Blizzard is up to with the Dragons of WoW, there were only 5 flights when Warcraft first started, now there up to 9 heh.
Orginal Flights
The Red Flight of Life
The Blue Flight of Magic - which is looking to be wiped out again, where's Kalec and Tyr when we need them.
The Bronze Flight of Time - which might be wiped out if their Leader is really the true master of the Infinite Flight.
The Green Flight of Dreams
The Black Flight of the Earth - course this one is almost entirely gone. Ony, Sarth and Nef are "dead", the last consort of Deathwing, Sintharia was killed in Night of the Dragon. Only one still alive is good ole Neltharion/Deathwing, who's still as crazy as a S**thouse rat.
The BC Flights
The Infinite Flight - seem to have some connection with Time, are trying to destroy the Time stream to save/destroy Azeroth. (Stop the orcs from coming through, Keep Thrall a slave, Kill Arthas and stop the Lich King from rising.)
The Netherwing Flight - made up of Black Flight eggs that Deathwing hid on Draenor then were transformed by the destruction of the planet and changed into the dragons who thrive off of nether energy.
The Wrath Flights
Proto-Drakes - Sure they dont have an actual flight and are actually the ancestors of the modern dragons but they still count.
Twilight Flight - More of Deathwing's experiments, though he used Sintharia to set it up. Combination of Netherdrakes mixed with Black Flights (where was he hiding all these extra eggs?), first one was destroyed by a Netherdrake and a draenei priest. Since then, there are only three known ones in the Black Flight chamber in Wyrmrest temple, guarding the eggs there with the help of Sarth.

The Proto-drakes are part of the flights, technically speaking. They always appear in the "original" colors, unless they are freak experiments.
I also wouldn't call any of these experimental dragons for real flights at all. They are sub-flights at least (Infinite being sub-Chromatic, Twilight and Netherwing being sub-Black, Plagued and Chromatic being... well, a horrible mix of freaky stuff).

Yeah I wasnt counting chromatic cause the only places you see them was in Black Wing Lair, and the Plagued was only in Scholomance. I only counted Infinite, Twilight and Nether because all three of them have fairly vast numbers(alright not so much of the Twilight, only 4 plus the whelps from the 2nd fight in OS). And the proto-drakes may have all colours, but seeing as a whole they came before the modern flights Im not sure if I would count them in as the normal dragons.

From what I understand the only eggs that turned into Netherwing Dragons were Black Dragons, as they were the only ones Deathwing had carted into Outland. If I'm wrong please show me something to prove I'm wrong.

The Azure drakes are Blue Flight members.

Yeah, just a minor Variation.
EDIT: Just an off-topic question, but what do you think Deathwings like now? Do you think he's still the same badass looking Black Dragon from WC2 or do you think he's even altered
himself
with Twilight Dragon magic? He seems like he's insane enough to do it, in my eyes.

Nah, he's ape-s**t crazy but even he isnt that crazy. But I think he's altered, between the Battles against Gruul in Outland, and then fight with the other four aspect's after Day of the Dragon even he's gotta be showing his damage by now. If they do show him, as long they keep the plates on his body with the lava leaking out between them, I'll be happy.

My dream fight for him:
You first see him in his human form, sitting on a throne in the back of his cave. At that point he sends in massive ammounts of his creations to battle you, and after a few waves goes dragon form and attacks from the air.
Three Twilight Dragons come in, u need to kill them first before killing Deathwing or else he'll absorb them into himself and heal fully. (an achivement if you let him absorb all three of them.)
After a while he lands and you then have to fight him on the ground. Be sure to stay away from the tail.
He then flys back up into the air and unleashes a massive torrent of energy. Think
Starfall
xDeathwing.
If you survive that he lands again and incapacitates the entire group. Monolouges a bit, and then is about to start picking you off one by one when the ghosts of the other aspects come in (yes, I think they'll all be dead by then). They release you from Deathwings spell and you kill him 4 more times, Each Aspect sacrificing there soul to mortally wound the former earth aspect.
Order: Malgos, Nozdormu, Ysera, Alexstrasza.
Deathwing reverts to his human for and then some other lore character (I say turalyon) will come in and execute him.
The End.
Critisize at will.

Heh, sounds cool. Kinda of a mix between all the dragon fights that have ever gone in WoW. But if he's gonna die, I cant see him doing it in human form, just because he wouldnt give anyone the satisfaction heh.

Actually, thats why people are speculating that Nozdormu is really the leader of the Infinite flight, he knows when he's going to die, he was told when he was made Aspect of Time. The thinking is he's using the Infinite to stop his death from occuring.

Morec is saying their already dead, you summon the souls to help you kill him. And he doesnt control time, he watches it, technically Nozdormu is controled by Time, he isnt suppose to alter the flow of time itself.

Its called expanding lore. Originally dragons were just dragons, and then in Warcraft 3 they expanded upon it by having different types of dragons.
Personally I'd like for them to get into the lore of how drakonids and dragonspawns are actually created. We raided blackwing lair and saw some of the experiments but didn't really get any hard lore on them. I'm hoping with Grim Batol or whatever, we really see the experiments and learn just how they're making them (because the bronze dragonflight has both these also, so obviously its not just the black flight doing it).

there's half of your question heh,

and theres the other half, though they dont say much about them.

Bumping this post because of something interesting blizzard said in an interview about possibly adding drakonids as a playable race. I hope they consider expanding the lore on them, since they haven't been really explained much but we still see them around.
