2nd round of LK attempts tonight. :crosses fingers: One question, where exactly do I put my circle for the valks. Near the edge of the circle that doesn't break away? Or near the edge that does break away? Any LOS issues if I have it too far in on the platform?
You will want to put it up after the transition phase right at the edge of the platform that is currently there. If you put it at the edge of the platform that falls away then you will also fall away. Also, you want to make sure that you stay between your portal and the center so that if and when you are grabbed it takes you right near your port.

this
just to re-iterate.. make sure its at the very edge because those valks take you pretty far
and make sure you stay near your portal at all times! the closer you are the faster it takes the valk to get you out... which means the quicker you can get back to dps'ing

I made a picture for you, ganimede! :D

hehe, nice!
your raid should be as central as they can be to give more time on valks that get them (obviously scattering from the centre before defiles to keep the area clear).
i've heard that hunters that are quick enough can turn 180° and disengage but my hunter has never done LK.

A great thing to do is watching the defile timer and if it's almost up, spread out (announce this on vent too)! That way, you'll avoid having lots of people standing in it ^_^
And indeed, the picture of raz is a tiny bit off :) But nice nonetheless! Should do for a normal kill.

Just would like to point out that the only purpose of the picture is for the portal position, not anything else. ^_^

Hello... how bout that ride in? I guess thats why they call it Sin City haha. You guys might not know this but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it grew by one. So there... there was two of us in the wolf pack. I was alone first in the pack and Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys I thought "wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine.
HAHAHAHA YESSSS
this is exactly what i had in mind when i made this thread
+1 to you good sir

Nah. It's virtually impossible due to server-client lag, among other things. Unless you can stop time or somehow manage to use slowdowns on WoW (which is illegal to the extreme), you can't.
What they may be referring to is Shadow Trap and Frozen Orb knockbacks.

hehe, i just youtubed "lich king disengage" to see if people were doing it and basically got a load of videos showing hunters hitting it by accident and hurling themselves over the edge.
funny stuff but, yes, you're probably right ^_^

Yeah I know ^_^ Still, portal position does not really matter that much as long as it's at the edge and you're standing near it, since DPS ignore your valkyr anyways no matter what.
But you might wanna stay in range of the healers >:D

i think the other important thing is (and i think this was already mentioned but it bears repeating) that you can move freely anywhere on the line between your portal and the centre of the circle to make sure you have range to DPS the LK, get healed and safely spread defiles.
remember that when you're killing valks you know you won't be picked up by one for a while so you can move laterally too but you must be careful to get back on your portal line before any more spawn.

Example of proper disengage use (carefully watch the first few seconds)
Btw, you CAN cheese the valks as a rogue.
Killing Spree lololol
