I dont get why you have to sound like a twat and be pessimistic..
The irony.
Fact is, if everyone who quits World of Warcraft announced their departure from the game this board would be unreadable.

Regardless of the debate between the Emblem of Conquest gear, I wish you luck and it is nice to see a sincere farewell rather than "LOL K TNX BAI!" So, enjoy what you go on to do now. :)

I dont understand how the release of EoC in heroics "negates" your effort to get gear. Did you not enjoy your gear after you won it? Did it not benefit you in your subsequent endeavors? Also, if you don't have the time to put into raiding, thats one thing...but if anything, EoC dropping from heroics is actually a benefit to someone who doesn't have time to raid. This way, they can just spend 1-2 hours a day, a few days a week running heroics and still bring up their existing t7-t8 gear on par with what is coming for t9---or if RNG has treated you poorly in /rolls and drops, you can still catch up.
I mean, I'm not trying to bash you, because your post was very polite, and I wish you well in whatever the future brings, its just that I don't think your complaints against EoC from heroics are consistent with your reason for leaving. If you don't have time to play, that's one thing. But it just sounds like you want to forever stay on the upper end of gear, but not put in the time/effort during the t9 era.
I want to explain why I think 3.2 will hurt casuals more than anyone else.
I think that fact is often missed, since its assumed casuals are going to be benefited from heroic badges.
Here goes:
1 - 3.2 won't hurt the true hardcore raider in a hardcore guild at all.
The gear which is available for badges in 3.2 is below the ilevel of hard modes, where true hardcore guilds are now.
Yes some people will be wearing the gear you got now, but you'll be wearing t9 gear by the time they finish farming heroics.
2 - 3.2 will help alts of hardcore raiders, and non-hardcore but more than casual raiders. I'm in a non-hardcore raiding guild. We're not up to hard modes yet, we're only half way through ulduar. Sure the gear will help me, I will farm heroics, and get the best I can. Still no where close to what you guys got right now.
3 - The casuals will be hurt by 3.2
Currently you can get into a pug naxx run with SP of X (lets say 2000 or whatever, i am not a caster, dont' really know). After 3.2 hits, the requirement for Naxx will be higher. (lets say 2500 SP).
If right now people want 30k unbuffed tanks for naxx, they will want 33k at 3.2 So just to remain in the same position of pugging naxx, you have to buff your gear.
The whole thing about casuals, is they dont' play a lot. And all that farming of heroics does require a lot of time. A sub-optimal run of a heroic isn't a half an hour event. Yes guilds of raiders, even non-hardcore, can clear heroics in under half hour. But a pug may fail completely, and may take 2 hours to get to that point.
