Having done a heroic Utgarde Keep with a balance druid the other day, i found it VERY annoying when he/she used
Typhoon
. Im realising this might be the wrong forum to ask this, but is it really that important for their dps to use this? And also (and this is the right forum to ask in) have you encountered this yourselves?
I didn't loose aggro many times, but i asked the druid to stop using it after a while. It was quite bothersome to keep up my TPS with all the running-around.

No it isn't important for their DPS to use this. For AoE in instances, boomkins use Hurricane. They might throw the occasional Typhoon on one of those giant, 12 mobs at once, forget-aggro-let's-just-aoe pulls just for fun, but really, who ISN'T tempted to try to steal aggro on those?

It doesnt proc anything that I can see and I wouldnt think it would be that high on their "this is what I kill things with" list, but I guess if there are enough mobs, the aoe might benefit their overall dps. That said, Ive noticed a few thunderchickens using it and annoying some of the tanks Ive healed for.

i don't know if typhoon helps a boomkins dps, but i do know every spell with pushback effect makes tanking very annoying. luckily there is glyphs to remove the pushback, and almost every raiding boomkin have it so it's not a problem in raids.

Yes it happens, just like Fire mages may use
Blast Wave
and Elemental shamans use
Thunderstorm
to knock mobs away. And as a tank that's quite annoying because you want to keep your mobs together. Knockbacks are rarely useful in PvE situations, so if said classes want to use these abilities in PvE on a regular basis they should get the minor glyph that disables the knockback. There's a minor glyph for each of those abilities that removes the knockback while reducing the ability's mana cost (or increasing the mana it generates in the case of Thunderstorm).

You all know the
Huntards
. We need to invent a new similar word for druids.
Druidtard
is too easy.

It does knock targets off a Consecration - our range is nowhere near 10 yards!
I find it annoying, but not game breaking, if I'm ready for it. Generally, I'll wait until they've Typhoon'ed before laying charging after them and laying down Consecrate, then there's no worries. The only worry will be if the druid uses Typhoon long before you've gotten a solid aggro hold, but unless you're pulling upwards of 4 mobs, that's highly unlikely.

Its mostly the ranged mobs that are a pain in the a$$. Thats what happened to me. Worked hard to get ahold of ranged mobs, then get them pushed away. Very annoying. Not gamebreaking, as Sir Squishalot said, but annoying.

i just ask them not to use it cause it is a pain in the AS$ beside they have a glyph that remove the push back effect so if it is a guildy tell him to use the glyph.

I have a boomkin and pala tank and i use typhoon quite a lot however i have the glyph which takes away the pushback. It is damn annoying for tanks. it does help dps a bit not tons but its a nice fast finisher and hits a good amount.
However you get someone who doesnt care about push back and then it causes problems. especially if it hits something else and pulls 4 more.

Hmm.. I thought the reference to Lancelot was intentional? :)

'Twas, but I'm on a PvP server without much sense of humour, so even Squishalot of Stormwind rarely gets referred to as a Knight.. so it's nice to see it once in a while :)
I still want to set up an all-Paladin guild called "The Knights of the Round" or other such thing - not for progression or anything, but just to serve as an elite group that would be feared in BGs/WG, be trusted for any roles in PuGs, and generally have an all-round 'these guys are good' ethic... but I don't think I'll ever get around to it, nor will I get any support :)
