Guys and Girls...
I would like to read your suggestions on how to manage the talent trees to become a damager or tank...
Thank You...

Empty glyphs are up to you, would either put WoG or CS into the free prime slot. Good majors are Focused Shield, Lay on Hands, Hand of Salvation, Divine Protection. Minor glyphs don't matter, they are all equally rubbish.

This is my preference. Prime glyphs are pretty much locked unless i want to mess around with increasing DPS. Majors are flexible and are on a fight by fight basis, though Focused Shield tends to stay up. Holy Wrath, Lay on Hands (3min reduction), Divine Protection are the stronger majors for various reasons. Rebuke is decent when you're interrupting a lot.

Figured I'd post here rather than make a new thread. I was wondering about the Hallowed Ground talent, and why people didn't take it? 80% reduction in mana cost seems like a LOT. Is it just that you don't use consecration much? I haven't played my Prot pally in a long time.

You may also want to look at
Ghaleon
's guide,
The Protection Paladin Compendium
, which covers a lot of material regarding maximizing effectiveness as a paladin tank.
By the same token,
dslg604t
's
Retribution Paladin Guide
could help you with the dps spec for paladins.

2/2 Hallowed ground works out at something like 30 extra DPS per target standing in the AoE for the full duration of the effect.
You can also read my guide over at tankspot:

Thanks for all the replies. Very helpful!
Would it be a good idea to take Hallowed Ground for maybe a 5man spec?

No. If you want AoE threat, glyph Hammer of the Righteous.

Close, but not quite. SoI is the seal to use if you care about survivability, Seal of Truth if you need the damage or at the start of the fight for threat.

SoI heals for something like 3k. I have close to 300k raid buffed with two stamina trinkets equipped on the only fight capable of endangering my life (hagara heroic). The heal from SoI disappears into the noise of random heal effects and critting HoTs. At this point in time you are much better off increasing your raid dps by using SoT, and ensuring that your WoG will be ready for Focused Assault by being dodged and parried less often.

Well sure, if you're BiS geared... who gives a flying crap what seal you tank with. Tank with Seal of Justice for all I care. For people actually progressing (still O.o) and who could use some extra healing on the tank? SoI is plenty fine and acceptable still. The healing you get from it over a fight is a not insignificant amount, even if it can get lost in the noise of overheal. Souldrinker is exactly the same, and there are several well progressed tanks I know of that swear by it. So, it's just a choice, damage, or survival. You choose.

Even when not BiS geared.
Take a look at how much overheal your healers are doing with and without SoI as the seal.
Yes, I use SoI while tanking - when the crap hits the fan - like when we have 2 healers out of commision for a short while.
SoI can really extend a sdeathscenario, but it does nothing untill you are at a period of healing deficiency - the 10 expertise from SoT are much more valuable survival tools as they allow faster HoPo generation which will allow you to use WoG - WoG is a lot more effective at healing than SoI.
And swearing by souldrinker is a matter of "it only has to proc once during a death scenario for the proc to be worth more than the extra stamina from HoM" - its a specific weighing of the values of the extra stamina and the random proccing of a not insignificant heal - very different from weighing SoI and SoT

I use my 416 souldrinker because it does more damage than any other 1h weapon in the game. The healing is a nice addition, but I'd use it without that effect too if it was missing.

I saw something about No'Kaled being better dps despite the strength loss for prot paladins.
Also, I would agree on the 416 version, I was comparing normal SD with heroic HoM - which is in no way clear.

If you don't need the mastery on HoM, use Souldrinker.

Again, I fail at clarity.
I agree, and I do (though I'm far from sure what gear I logged out in last week, our raid season has ended).
I meant that what I was talking about (SD v hcHoM) was in no way clear
Now.. move along, nothing to see here except an expressional trainwreck.
