I'm never going to upgrade. Sad but true. I'll wait until T10.

THEY FINALLY GAVE US A NICE SET OF ARMOR, AND NOW

Ack. Time to look like a cartoon again instead of a healer.

Warlocks and us, as well as Death Knights, Paladins and Warriors get the same base models?
Wow. Talk about
lazy
"cost-saving".
E: I do like the general overall Priest appearance though. Will be hard to tell us from 'locks, mages and priests in Raids.

Think of it more like uniforms provided for your factions army... for the assault on Icecrown. ;D

I didn't know we were mere pawns in this war, dressed up for anonymity and expendability.
....
I didn't sign up for this! >:C

Because plate armor is REALLY priestly
The only reason Priests wear plate armor is that the game was balanced in that manner. It really has nothing to do with the fact that they were priests. Religious emissaries would often go on war campaigns with armies, and they did wear "heavy" armor. Take the Priest equivalent in DnD, the Cleric... they wear Breastplate/Full Plate.
So... this point is moot, and saying that it's cloth armor so it needs to look like cloth is also a waste of breath since that is only a game-balance mechanic. It can look like whatever the devs want it to look like... even if it's a clown suit.
Paladins.

Well I never played DnD, but a plate wearing Holy Light Wielder sounds very much like a paladin to me, in WoW that is.

Anyway, on Topic, I dislike the uniform look of clothies. I think we priests need more flowing robes, rather than ones which just hang from us. But also, if I get T9, I will probably be getting even MORE requests for portals on my priest.../sigh.

Pretty ugly
Thankfully you can turn off helm graphic...

I am fairly certain Blizz has reassigned any GOOD designers to Diablo 3 at this point. I feel good about my monthly subscription fee going to the development of a different game...

Ha ha, it does look a bit like transformers, healers in disguise. Also, that poor guy looks like he's going to fall over from the sheer weight of those shoulders and gloves. And did he just win a wrestling title?
It's really not ugly (well, the robe itself, anyway), just a bit odd.... As a "uniform" look goes, it could certainly be worse.
I do prefer a "cloth" look...but, yes, it can look like anything they want it to, if they want it to look like heavy armor, okay. After all, the first pair of "pants" a starting DK gets is basically a plate skirt ;) But it's still plate armor, despite looking very clothy to go along with their robed acolyte look.
It's just nice that it's not all green and brown like everything else in WoTLK. Between my current
Camo Robe
and my
shoulders
that look like they're straight out of WW1.... I just need a hat to match the shoulders!
Though obviously not even being 80 yet, I don't need to worry about T9 for a long, long time. Still, it's not too bad looking.
