I see an FAQ in druid forums.
The Warrior forums became that way due to a warrior/rogue moderator: as with the mage forum.
Every forum has an FAQ + Helpful links + Stat wieghts thread, the exclusion being mage, rogue, priest and warrior.
Not sure why priests though...

We were tinkering with a few ideas a couple of days ago on IRC. Things
may
chance - we realize the way things are right now is not very optimal, don't worry.
One of the ideas I had - and it was related to another idea I had - was to have a specific number of stickies for each class forum, and all of them would be linked to in a single thread, which will be a sticky. Those specific things would be stuff like "Gems", "Talents & Glyphs", "Rotation", "Gearing", "<Spec1>", "<Spec2>", "<Spec3>", and so on. And maybe a couple of class-specific threads for the classes that require such - e.g. "Pets" for hunters and warlocks. This way we won't have 5 stickies about how to tank with a DK - each one for a different spec, and for either 2H or DW tanking. We'd have one, possibly two.
Feel free to respond to this idea, but remember that it's just an idea I bring to your attention as a regular user.

Whoa what's with the white text?
But, I disagree. I think most of the stickies, even though they are covering very similar topics, have enough of their own insights and whatnot to warrant their own thread.

There are times when I don't want my green text to cause unintentional bias in the reader. I try not to use green when I am speaking as an average user who utilizes Wowhead frequently and has no "connections".

But don't you actually need all those specific threads? Maybe I am not understanding you completely, but let me see if I have it correct.
Under the priest forums, you would have a sticky for "Gems". In that thread, there would obviously be gemming discussions. But as priests have three specs, how would this avoid confusion? Would there be a Shadow, Holy, and Disc link in the Gem Sticky?
Also, to throw this out there, forum moderators need to look at the current stickies and make some decisions on current validity. On the priest forums, as a sticky we have
The Five-Second Rule, a Story of Love & Hate
. Back in the day, this thread was very valid and important to understand if you wanted to be a great priest healer. Now it is irrelevant. I don't completely suggest sticky thread purges without the input of the community, but when the information in stickies becomes outdated, they should be purged. Maybe add a function to stickies to "report" them for "unsticky".

You can click "Other" in the report feature and enter in a unsticky reason. Just as sticky candidates are brought to moderator attention by the community, they need to be reported when out of date by the community as well, there are far too many threads to be monitored.

I'll second Gryphon - report them. Made a topic here and tell us they are outdated. Email us. Contact us on IRC. Do something. Our time is limited as it is, and without a poke from the users, we reraly venture reading random threads and judging them.
But let me clarify the idea I had.
Every class forum will have a number of threads (Talents, Gear, etc) created by a moderator and linked to in a parent thread, which will in turn be stuck. Those basic threads will be populated by users - you can think of them as suggestion boxes. If a user believes they have a good "guild to X as Y", they can check the appropriate basic thread, decide whether his or her guide is better than what we have currently up there, and post a reply. Moderators will look at the reply and (based on input from the community) decide whether the new reply is going to become the new first post in the thread.
