Just wondered how sub rogues get the best out of this, considering the use of premed etc. At the moment if i want to keep an enemy stunned as long as possible , ie rogues, warlocks i use this
Cheap shot (no premed)
Hemo x1
gouge
pool energy
Kidney shot ,hemo spam, finisher
I like to save premed for ph2
id be intersted to know how other subbys go about their buisness ...ty

If you want to stunlock go Mul. spec. Hemo spam is about as viable as moonfire spam in pvp.

I signed up just to respond to this...
Really, Mut has more stuns open to them than sub huh? Let's see, you get CS for opener and then KS when it fades. Um... I think that all of them. With sub you get CS then KS then pop ShD and CS as much as you like when they trinket KS. So stunlock is way more doable, imo, with sub rather than mut.
Personally, I run sub for bg's and I find that it melts faces there. A continous stunlock is all but impossible with trinkets and such though. My personal rotation there changes with the circumstances but goes something like:
CS
quick Evis
BS or Shiv couple times to get cp's
KS to draw the trinket (everyone expects thats the end of stuns)
ShD macro (Arcane torrent, AP trinket , ShD)
CS
Ambush and Evis spam
There are many variables including blink and bubbles but thats why you have shadow step and sprint/vanish. It's likely not perfect but it's almost as neat as girls when you are looking for some fast action.

Well I dont use shadowdance. I picked up quick recovery, fleet footed and cold blood instead. reasons for this bieing ....1. I probably was'nt using it right . 2 I hate backstab builds. Im stil using the above rotation cheap shot , hemo ,gouge, kindney etc works ok for me

your spec is more or less the spec i was using but i picked up shadowstep instead of ghostly strike and did have overkill either. Its was great against clothies particulary mages.
I' ve made pvp a lot easier on myself by respeccing to muti/prep guess I gave in to the inevitable but ive just found a 3v3 team and want the first steps into arena to go as smooth as possible. muti seems more versatile and easier to play imo, im doing better against warriors and pallys and dks and the clothies are a piece of cake most of the time.
One thing that gets boring with muti is the constant stunlocking i wish the pvp playstyle was more varied and interesting thats what I was looking for with the sub build. Maybe im just bored with my rogue

Hemo spam is about as viable as moonfire spam in pvp.
Sub can work, but it's not as scrub-friendly as mutilate.
its like deciding to bike 20 miles to work instead of driving. admirable if it works, plus you get a good workout. but theres some many other risk factors, weather, your condition, speed, etc that its sometimes a risky move, and with winter coming around theres periods where you really cannot bike to work at all. sure driving can also have its bad sides, the carbon emissions, the car breaking down, etc. but its also a lot less risky, and alot more effective.
so, choice is yours. are you biking to work, or are you driving?
QFT Nice analogy..

I agree 100%. The utility combined with the absurd damage you can drop in one second makes subtlety lethal in PvP. Obviously, cloth is toast, but you can get creative with plate by using a Shadowstep, Premed, Ambush, Eviscerate opener which leads to your stunlock, usually by entering shadow dance. If you really want to get crafty, vanish before switching to ShD and repeat step one minus the Shadowstep.
While there are a few well-geared (or lucky; i.e. you magically crit once or no times) classes out there, more often than not you will either kill them with burst(s) like that or get them to the point where you can poke them with a pillow to kill them.

To stunlock in PvP, you're going to have to do it like we used to have the stunlock back in the day. But Sub rogues now do get some advantages.
Personally, even when I'm Mutilate, my stunlock is always CS->Mutilate->Gouge->Restealth->Ambush/Garrote/CS(maybe)->KS
With you guys, it's going to be: CS->Hemo->Gouge->Restealth->Ambush/Whatever->KS->Finish
However, with Shadowstep, there's some interesting thought put into stunlocking.
If it's a mage(or a caster I need to shut down), I'd say stunlock by going Garrote->Hemo->KS->Shadowdance->Garrote->CS
You keep them silenced and unable to move for a period of time. So that's very nice.
Or if you just want extreme burst damage:
Premeditation->Ambush->KS->Shadowdance->Ambush->Ambush->Gouge->Restealth->CS
Sub is the way to go if you know how to play. But honestly, don't deny the easy of use the Mutilate build has.
EDIT: And, I'd like to comment on this:
its like deciding to bike 20 miles to work instead of driving...
While you are correct in the assumption that Mutilate is easier to stunlock with, you'd be wrong in the case that it's versatile and works in most cases.
Where the Sub build comes in handy is that it can be twisted to be advantageous towards every fight, but you just need some experience under your belt. I'd say most of the rogues who use the Mutilate build couldn't run a Sub build properly only because they didn't play back when stunlocking wasn't CS->Mut->KS because the stuns themselves had diminishing returns, not the skill itself.
So, yes, it might take a bit more skill. It might take you a mile or two further than where you wanted to be, but you can be damn sure it works just as good, if not better, than Mutilate.
