Spreadsheets are not god.

First off, don't misconstrue my intentions in this post. I've used spreadsheets before for the really minute tweaking of my toon. I'm just getting fairly tired of every response to a question being to go consult a spreadsheet.
The purpose of a forum is to share ideas and opinions, not just tell people to go crunch some numbers in excel. If a very general question comes up then maybe people can, I dunno, use their past personal experience in the game that we all play to shed some light on some of these questions instead of saying "Well the only way to know for sure is to use a spreadsheet." If a person very new to the game is directed to a spreadsheet every time they attempt to get some feedback, that's just going to discourage them because in all honestly those things are decently complicated to wrap your head around the first time you get started. Maybe all some people need is a push in the right direction to come to their own conclusions about their problems.
And I might be generalizing things a bit, and it's not literally every topic that is guilty of hastily suggesting someone whip out their spreadsheet, but I do see it quite a bit it does happen more often than necessary.
So in conclusion *end rant*, to the noobs out there, you won't catch me telling you to check out a spreadsheet, yet I do encourage you eventually learn to use them as a tool to get the most out of your character.
Thanks and good day.

That's the point, though. The OP isn't saying that the spreadsheet is wrong, he's just saying that sometimes you can give people a real answer to their question, instead of just giving people an automated answer of "sticky" or "spreadsheet."

sticky and spreadsheet ARE real answers.
See, there's the thoughtlessness that people have taken on about the whole situation. Spreadsheet gives DPS answers. However, sometimes people have questions that require an actual human answer, not just a number. But still, you rogue "authorities" just parrot answering-machine message referring people the the stickies and spreadsheet. Again, you've missed the boat here, and proven that all anyone does anymore, to anything, is "sticky & spreadsheet."

personaly i hate spreadsheat . You feel much beter if you get
youre answer by a real person than a stupit excel format. Heck those numbers arent even true.
Spreadsheats lack alot of stuff but can be used for general stuff.
