I have two questions...
I have a macro that switches wands:
/equip Rod of Corrosion
/equip Icefury Wand
Works fine... I have my Icefury wand equipped for the +9 Spell Damage, but switch to my Rod of Corrosion for the higher (55) DPS.
What I would like to do is swap between my offhands when casting spells. I have a Drakestone of Fiery Wrath and a Twilight Orb of Frozen Wrath. My macro follows this format:
/equip Drakestone of Fiery Wrath
When I use this macro to initiate combat, it switches offhand and casts the spell. However, If I follow up with a macro switching offhand, it seems to take the GCD to execute the offhand switch, and I have to execute the macro again to cast the spell...
1: Is there a way to avoid this behaviour and combine the offhand switch and cast the spell (like my wand macro), and
2: Do you loose the benefit of the other offhand is you switch during combat (mentioned to me in chat). How would you be able to determine this?
Thank you in advance!
1. Basically, no. Changing a weapon (or offhand) while in combat triggers the GCD. Don't play Classic (but you apparently do) so I'm not completely sure about that game version, but I don't think it was ever different.
2. Unless I misunderstand the question: yes, obviously? You don't have the other offhand equipped anymore. I assume the benefit you're talking about is the +damage/healing of the
, which definitely ceases immediately if you unequip it.
