I have been woundering, is Soulshatter good in raids / groups? I mean, It reduces Threat (like if you get aggro from a mob) what do you think? is it good or not.

Its an oh %^&* button. If you need to use it more then its cooldown allows, then you either have a crappy, under-geared tank, or you don't know how to manage threat.
If you're at 110% threat, making 4k TPS and your tank is only making 3k... You probably shouldn't throw Chaos Bolt and burn that next Conflag... Huge DPS is awesome, but if it gets you killed halfway through the fight, you're not contributing much. Its okay to let you numbers dip to cool some threat.

It could be better. I did a 10-man harmdmode with 2 other destro locks and and our tank was about to start pulling his hair out cause we were always pulling threat. Especially on Hodir, I would get 2 humongous crits, get aggro, soulshatter, get another 2 crits in a row and be back on top.
If it has a giant cd, it should wipe all threat.
honestly, hodir is a horrid fight to measure your threat on anyway. Any fight that lets you hit a spell for 50k on a 50% hasted cast time is gonna cause aggro issues.. thats generally why the tank kites him over to the spark-holder/light beams anyway so he can get some mega hits to compensate.
although, i will agree that soulshatter should completely wipe aggro. Mages, hunters, and rogues all have complete aggro wipes (with hunters only have a 30s cooldown.. i mean wtf). Locks are the only pure DPS class that doesn't have a full aggro wipe.

No if you get aggro and use this you fail at life, soulshatter is a worthless spell and should never ever be used.
Fail troll is fail
you're an idiot.. if you're not coming close to the aggro table, then you're not putting out enough damage.. simple.
locks are high threat classes, just like rogues. only thing is, we don't have a complete threat wipe like rogues do.

Neither Warriors, Dk's, nor Boomkins have full or even any aggro wipe. Shamans have only a partial aggro wipe. However these classes all have a reduced threat generated skill that's anywhere from 2-3 times better than that of the warlock to the extent that they don't need a threat reducer.
Achloryn said 'pure DPS class"- not hybrids in DPS roles.
yes i did, but i didn't argue the point cause what fmatt said was a valid point too. I don't know the warlock talent tree verbatim, but i don't recall seeing a "reduce threat by x%" except 10% for affliction... and very few people really raid as affliction anymore anyways.
