So blizzard has said many times they dont want to give shamans combat control like stuns and silences.
That would be ok but what do they give shamans in compensation for not getting cc?
Feels to me like they are just saying shamans cant have cc but every other class does full stop. No real reason for this i can see.
And hex is totally crap everyone knows, bearly is cc.

Shamans have the game's best interrupts. 25 yard range with gloves, costs only 120 mana when talented, and with a six second cooldown. Next patch it will be off the shock GCD, making it even better.
Also, hex is not crap, it is acutally a decent CC ability that you won't have to worry about breaking. Remember that unlike polymorph
hex does not heal your opponent to full health
and does not break on a single point of damage. My only complaint about hex is that the cooldown could be shortened slightly (maybe 30 seconds) and the range on it increased. My heals, spells and shocks have more range then my hex.
Shamans also have good snares, and some very unique mechanics such as the shock system, and abilities like grounding totem (Lawl ground ur pyroblast) not to mention Bloodlust.
While the class is a bit underpowered in PvP atm, it is defintely getting a nice do-over come 3.2. Shamans do have quite a bit of 'control' type skills, hex + shocks makes for some nice anti-healer measures.

Hex is crap, long coldown, target runs ouf of line of sight or into you so you cant cast while its on, dispellable, trinketable.
Warriors have enough to make up no cc as they are easily one probably the best pvp class, with a healer to back them up. Look at any arena statistics and you will see this.

Yes, next patch it will be good, for now ES is sort of crappy as an interrupt since that is part of our sustained and burst damage, and holding it back for an interrupt sucks.
Hex is @#$%ty right now because you have to cast it, next patch it'll be good though because you'll be able to instant cast it. The comparsion to poly is not needed though, because regardless of the advantages hex has, it lacks the main one, its not spammable.
Shamans have good snares but others can snare better without sacrificing their interrupts (although this too is being fixed in 3.2).
So yeah, basically enhancement shamans are pretty #$%^ty right now, but all their flaws are being ironed out in 3.2.

Id rather do an 3 second 4-8k instant heal than cast an instant hex probably.
What I was saying about line of sight was when u cast hex people can still run around behind pillars and stuff, they still control their characters movement. Its really fear but on a longish cd that lets people still can control characters movement.
I think enh shamans will probably still be worst class/spec out there next patch in pvp and pve. I find them such a fun class its really hard to know whether to play them when they suck so much.
Plus i just got killed by a paladin in one stun lock, i got 400 res i know its not that good but extra reilience isnt enough to really help maybe id have 1/3 or 1/5 of my health left instead yay.

Did you post to cry or get tips so you can do better? Resilence more noticeable the more you stack. 400 resilence is NOTHING, you might as well use your PvE gear. Once you hit the soft cap of 800 (900-1k is preferred for many shamans) you'll notice a huge difference in the damage you are taking. How much stamina do you have as well?
A paladin will not lawlHoJ any healing class that is PvP geared unless they use avenging wrath, and the healer is half-braindead.
Also, in my previous post I was not talking about enhance shamans, frankly it's currently the games most broken PvP spec (rank 9 frostbrand anyone?) of any given class. While the new shock GCDs are going to be awesome, windshock is still a great interrupt spell for a restoration specced shaman.

I am thankful for peoples responses but im just having the same frustrations as I had in tbc. I don't know if its actually worth me carrying on with this class. I find shaman really fun to play, but youve got to admit we are weaker than basically all other classes.
Sometimes even if you play perfectly your just gonna lose to people who are average players. I do intend to get more resillience and i suppose i shoudnt be so fast to judge, but from what ive heard its not that much better.

Oh and i have 16500hp. About 1-2 gcd worth of damage away from 20,000hp.
The thing that i find annoying is paladins were a joke class like shamans in tbc but in wotlk blizzard has treated paladin class very well giving buffs and constantly changing them.
Shamans still seem a joke. What we could do with is something like soul link 20% less physical damage taken as high enhancement talent to make us able to survive against other melee, instead of shamanistic rage on a cd.

Your gear is a joke. Although I have not been in the arena for about a month and a half (break) I was packing about 22.5k hp and 900-odd resilence with 2150 SP. You need better items before you can complain.

16500hp /400 res is very low for a healer. I have 16000 hp in my PvE set. My PvP set puts me at close to 23k hp, and a shade over 900 res, while still maintaining about 2k SP. The difference in hp and res is bigger than you think. What might kill you now will probably leave you with an extra 6-8k hp in better pvp gear which is enough to survive once a dps has used all his cooldowns. Ret pallys can frontload close to 15k damage which is fatal to you, but to 20k+ hp, its no problem at all since their damage drops significantly after that.
