Socket Bonus for Tankadins?

So what is considered a good socket bonus for Tankadins?
Most of the gear I have at the moment has Stam bonuses and some have Dodge bonuses.
The Stam bonuses range anywhere from 6 to 12 and the dodge bonuses seem to be a flat 4.
So when I am stacking Stam gems, I need to decide which ones are worth slotting in alternate gems to get the bonus.
I am thinking that anything with the dodge just isn't worth trying to socket for. And the stam bonus cut off would have to be 12. Anything else would just be a flat loss of potential Stam.
Any thoughts?
Armory:
Haina
My main spec is Ret so i am just trying to build up a reasonable tanking set for my off spec. I believe my health is too low at the moment and am trying to build it up with badge gear and gems. I have a few upgrades still to get - but it is a work in progress.

The general rule of gemming for socket bonuses is.
Would you gem pure gem of this stat into your gear?
What colour is it? Do you need this stat gemmed?
I usually ignore every single socket bonus unless its
-def (and i need def and by gemming def/sta i can get some def and sta + socket bonus)
-sta (and by gemming it i can get meta req or some threat stats)
Ignore all others.
Also it depends how many gems i will have to put outside of my general manner. If there is 1 non-blue socket for 1 socket bonus its ok. But 2 no way. Stack sta into those.

If you have a preference in numbers, put it into the Wowhead scales and they'll calculate if the socket bonuses are worth it.

You should nearly always take the socket bonus as a tank becuse nearly all our gear is
yellow
or
blue
. If you get a red put a
+10prism
in it.
Zakkhar, youre a bad. Exp/hit/dodge etc arnt any good huh?

Main tankadin also suggests this for a
red
socket. It provides a little avoidance and TPS as well as stam.
And good point Quest. I keep forgetting that Def is not a cap and it never hurts to have more than 540 def. Always our best avoidance stat.
And thanks blade - I will check out the scales and play around with some numbers in there.

Shifting is great if you have 2+ red, I agree.
Here are my wowhead prot weightings. I have no updated them since 3.1 though, but they are 100x better than the defaults the mobs are keeping in there forever :P
This is more for
TPS
weights. We have yet to see multiple weight profiles in wowhead so youll have to do it manual.

Doesn't change the fact that agility is still worth the minimum of ~85% of dodge.
Which it's not in this case.

I remember EJ saying that it is worth 95% not 85%.

I remember EJ saying that it is worth 95% not 85%.
That's if you include the armor bonus.
At a pure avoidance standpoint (which is the only direct comparison) it's a minimum of 85%.

Thats because dodge isnt a TPS stat.

I have been playing around with RAWR as well and looking at overall stats. Every slot is matched and they all seem to be reasonably balanced. RAWR seems to do a pretty good job of rounding it all out. And in the end I come out with around 4K extra health while pretty much maintaining everything else.
The one thing I have found when using RAWR though is that it rarely suggests enchanting weapons with anything other than Mongoose. Is it really that good for a tanking weapon?

There are two things that you can do in this case: raise agility, or lower dodge.

Mongoose is much better than it used to be for us. I take it over blood draining now. It has a 33-50% uptime.
