So, it's gotten to the point where I got kicked out of my guild

^Or maybe they incorrectly assume that the problem is the player, and not the class. I'm with this guy, I'm not close to being kicked out of my guild or anything, but I went from top of the DPS charts in Naxx to middle in Ulduar to bottom in ToC. Spriests damage isn't scaling with with gear as much as other classes are. This is a real problem that needs to be dealt with.
No guild leader in his or her right mind would kick a raid member doing 5k DPS consistently.
Maybe you haven't done too much heroic ToC, but 5k is low (average for a spriest though). Other classes do 7-9k.

(maybe I talked a bit too much on the vent)
I hate to say it, but this might be a reason I have let some players go. Talking on vent can be distracting to other players especially if it's unnecessary chatter.
I could be possible they were just dissatisfied with your social behavior and used your DPS as an excuse, albeit a passable one.

Update:
Message from one of the officers
- When I asked what the main reason were I got kicked
Though,
I

Ask for a further explanation about why you were good enough until ToC and that night in particular.
If you were too vocal, or a generally low performing player, they should have said something sooner.

no offense to Haxxer, but considering how badly written that chat line was, "taking" could have been a mistell of "talking" but also could have been taking, as in rolling too often on loot.
some guilds doing progress want all of their guildmates to benefit from the gear dropped, even if it means passing on items that are an upgrade for you.
most guilds have specific guidelines about looting, my guild usually says "one main spec need roll, then one set peice roll per night" and then if everyone passes their main roll on a item everyone that can understandably use the item can roll and these rolls are unlimited.....kinda restricting at times depending on teh raid comp that particular night (only two clothies in raid yet all cloth gear drops) but it works....
only reason why i thought of this was because everyone commented on the gear of OP, if the guild felt he was just ninjaing loot without really pulling his weight for it.....

On the issue of spriest dps, this sounds exactly like what happened in TBC. I was shadow throughout TBC and the main complaint by spriests was that our dps doesn't scale with our gear.
I don't see spriests as doing the dps of a good lock, rogue, mage or hunter but really as a hybrid they should be able to keep in line with shammys, palas, warriors etc.
The problem with priests in general is that they don't stack well, one holy priest can do all the required buffs, as the +hit from shadow only really affects things like a fury warriors off hand weapon, everyone else will be hit capped (or should be).
Shadow seems to be best as a levelling spec, which it is undeniably very efficient for. In arena there are very few successful partnerships for a shadow priest, in pve you can be replaced by another dps who will do more damage and might bring more buffs. It's a shame really.

while yes it is not difficult for end game raiders to get gear so that they are hit capped without out 3% misery buff. Those same players might be aware enough of the raid comp to have a separate gear set with maybe one or two pieces traded out for when a Spriest is in raid. This could result in a fair amount of Dps gain depending on the availability of high end gear for each class/spec without hit on it.
then again I love it when misery goes up while I am healing, so that if i decide to throw a smite or HF during the battle it actually at least has a chance of landing.

Well then, your guild leader is a dumbass for not knowing that Shadow Priest does not do equal DPS with pure-DPS classes. Sorry for being so blunt, but it's true.
