I wanted to try the new disc traits, so I bought dual spec and specced both holy and disc. So far so good, but then I tried getting into a group.
Most groups and raid rejected me when knowing I would heal disc. These shifty 1200 dps goonies have the audacity to boot a full epic priest off the raid. I'm happy when the easter holidays are over.

Disc is epic. I've had some bad PUGs but it was confirmed for me how awesome it was when I actually managed to very successfully (if exhaustingly) raid heal on Iron Council and Kologarn in Ulduar 10. (we needed the shammy for purge and ES to heal the tank).

im not boasting at all cause i dont wanna come accros like that btw but everyraid i go in the usuall thing is im top most of the time in every raid and holy palas in the raid usually have the most overhealing but i find that if you got an imba group druids win in healing cause the hots just keep them full all the time and i cant get a heal in but in sticky situations i find that i dominate in healin.
like i said before though please dont have a go at me i dont like to come across as a big headed person:P

Disc and Palladins are by far the best tank healers. The thing about meters is it A: does not show the amount shielded by disc - causing them to judge you B: A lot of overhealing by the palladin causing you to unjustfully blame them. Paladin's often put the beacon of light on the main tank meaning any heals to anyone else also heal the tank. If they are healing someone that is 2k shy of full, he can heal that person for 10k giving them 8k overhealing. At that same time though the tank is getting that 10k heal.

Overhealing doesn't go to the beacon. Beacon DOES however cause alot of overheal when they heal someone who has just gotten smacked to within an inch of their life yet the beacon'd tank isn't missing much hp, or are casting quick FoLs on multiple targets when again the beacon doesnt really need the heals. Also paladins overheal more as they are so very crit based, their crits return mana to them even if the crit is overheal, so really a paladin's overheal number means nothing unless they are running into mana issues somehow.
So many people don't understand how different healers will and should look on a recount meter and how to use the information on them. Really if a person doesnt know they should follow the 'did people die or keep going dangerously low?' if no then don't worry about it, if yes start reading up and look into all the factors (insufficient or improperly geared tanks, low dps, etc etc. this is where a good raid leader is a true gem, for example spotting that the problem is more likely a tank geared for high physical mitigation tanking a magical damage boss than healers that just can't quite keep up). Individual healers however should learn how their class interacts with recount and use the information to self improve imo.
