Slow doesn't affect melee speed, only ranged. Therefore it's useless on most bosses, plus tanks have their own slow effects for melee speed (Thunder Clap and so on).

My main spec is an arcane pvp spec so I obviously have slow. Every now and then i go into raids for marks, gear, etc. and always use slow on the big bosses. As far as ive seen i am the only mage on my server that uses slow on raid bosses. Im not really sure why other mages dont use it to help the tanks and healers out; are they immune to it or something, is it a waste of time when trying to burst dps, or am i just overlooking the other mages using it? I was just wondering because i have never seen any other mage use slow on bosses and i think it would be pretty useful for tanks or healers healing tanks with the boss taking 60% longer to hit them.
Please tell me if i should cast it on raid bosses or if i should just go with straight burning the boss instead. Im not sure which is more helpful to the raid..that extra 300dps i would get if i didnt spend the time casting it or the boss being slowed for tanks/healers.
all tanks have combat slows anyway
DKs
Pallies
Warriors
Druids
all these trigger torment the weak, so you're just wasting a GCD on something that should already be there anyway, don't worry about using slow.
