Pick the lock. You can 3 hit someone in pvp and put some good numbers up in heroics. Plus you wont be asked constantly to heal since warlocks dont have a healing spec.

non-Glyphed Typhoon is a no-no as a damage dealer, the only valid PvE place to use it is to keep Zombie Chow from Gluth. Not only does a non-Glyphed Typhoon make Tanks see red, melee DPS doesn't like it too much either.
I've played a Boomkin to 80 and it's fun. Only have a hard time soloing elites if they are immune to snares or have elite buddies.

Is destruction the only viable spec though? From what I hear affliction is used a lot in pvp. I'm also told that affliction can put out some of the highest single target dps out of all the classes/specs in the game if you're skilled enough to use it right but that it's a lot harder to dps with then destruction.

I hate that destruction is the only viable spec for a lock
I hate that I can only dual-spec so I can only be caster/cat or healer/cat or healer/caster...
First, destruction is not the only viable spec for a lock. Is it the highest on dps meters? Usually, but it does not make the other trees invalid. I play demo myself and do just fine in heroics and raids. Am I top DPS? No (and especially not if a destruction lock is also in group), but I pull my weight and put out very good DPS. Not to mention if I feel like questing, demo makes it 100 times easier ^_^
Second, I agree with you on the dual-spec. I'd love to try out feral, but since my druid is my main, the cost of respeccing only for an hour or two isn't something I'm willing to do atm. WTB triple-speccing.... ^^; (even if only for druids and pallies)

Okay, so here we go! another of one of those "what class should I choose?"-topics...
Today the battle is between warlock and druid as the title of the topic says...
I have earlier lvl'ed both warlock and druid to 80, but then gave the account away and have only recently come back to WoW (got myself a lvl 80 human pala).
Now I'm bored with the pala, he has the best gear he can get without starting to raid, and I dont like to raid...
As I've played both of the classes mentioned above, I know that a druid can take on pretty much any task and complete it with succes (tanking, healing and DPS). That a warlock can dish out some pretty nice dmg, and if specced properly solo group quests...
I like the 9K crits of the chaos bolt - uh! and the pets
I like the stealth and awesome healing albilities of the druid...
I hate that the druids is somewhat similar to my pala.
I hate that the warlock wears cloth...
I love that the druid just have to remain in melee range to do dmg.
I hate that the warlock dies every time he comes in melee range...
I hate that destruction is the only viable spec for a lock
I hate that I can only dual-spec so I can only be caster/cat or healer/cat or healer/caster...
oh... And I hate that even tho they are both currently lvl 30, they both completely suck compared to when I lvl'ed my pala at the same lvls (doing 2-3 mobs at a time..)
What should I choose? I want to mainly PvP and do heroics...
Druids way of playing is completly diferent from a Paladin , in every single spec!
And i think you meant hate instead of love the melle range thingie... well go balance then -.-''

And i think you meant hate instead of love the melle range thingie... well go balance then -.-''Aye, Balance is fun, and makes it easy to get tree/dps gear as you can wear certain stuff for both till you find best in slot for both specs.

I know that both classes are viable for their respective roles, I just need to know which one to pick...
It has a lot to do with the lvl'ing process too, since I dont want to raid, most of this chars life will be spent on lvling, so I dont want a class which sucks while lvling...
Warlocks are great levelers, only second to hunters as the fastest levelers. Druids on the other hand start picking up once they cat form. So their first 20 levels are brutally slow.

Go with the lock.
There are to many druids already. A lock in my opinion takes more skill to play.
There's alot going on with a lock cuz they crowd control as well as deal damage. 3 different fears for example. And if melee does get to you and your demo spec, you immo aura and burn em up.
Yeeah, lock13, you sure aren't biased at all....
Anyway, although I disapprove of his methods, I agree with lock13,
if you are bored with your pally don't play the druid, the ability to survive almost every situation is prevalent in both classes, if you want something new go with the lock.
On the other hand if you actually want to be of use to a group then go with the druid but since you say you aren't into raiding the lock should be fine.
