When a mob such as a Clefthoof is sheeped, you will notice it goes from a giant freaking yak to something about knee high (or slightly taller than you if you're a gnome). When this happens, what happens to the extra mass?
Is it simply condensed into one super-heavy sheep?
Is it destroyed and recreated when the polymorph effect breaks?
Is it displaced somewhere in the Twisting Nether (or similar), at which point it is replaced after the magic fades?
I was just curious.

The wool of the sheep is light, while the flesh of the sheep is heavy. The mass of the clefthoof gets redistributed over the wool and the flesh. This happens in such a way the total mass of the sheep is less than the clefthoof: you can pick up the sheep with ease and carry it around.
