Well you've got Healing
Wave
and Lesser Healing
Wave
. Those are supposed to be water based heals right? Seems odd that the spells are tinted green and not blue since the naming suggests that these spells are water not nature. Perhaps the animation was just copied from the Resto Druid one? Or that the water just has a lot of algae in it...

You can also get sound waves, electromagnetic waves, radiation waves, radio waves; heat waves too I guess.
I like to think of shaman heal as being like magnetic waves, pulling at all the iron in the target's blood to keep it in the body. :P

...radiation waves...
That explains the green glow that's left on targets after chain heal.

I think it's a valid point. Druid spells should be green-ish, holy spells like Paladin or Priests can be yellow-ish and something blue-ish would fit for Shaman heals.

I guess because Nature spells are green and Holy spells are yellow? :/

Riptide is water too and it has a splash blue animation. Green heals make me think of nature/life when HW and LHW aren't really that. Guess it could be marshwater with water AND nature elements :P

Actually, shaman Wave spells use the exact same animation as a druid's Healing Touch/Regrowth. So they are green and there are leaves in the animation. And Zelda-like fairies. They do not have a unique animation (or it's the druid spells that have no unique animation, depending on how you see it).

Yep. Green. OK, let's see, we'll give the green to Warlocks, so they can finally have green fire. Now we need to find someone with inappropriately blue spells and make them red, and we can get the blue healing spells.
It's really just Blizzard reusing animations. The Holy healing classes have some similar animations, and we share animations with our Nature healing brethren the Druids. What water effects are even in the game? Aside from Water Shield, the only water spell animation I can think of is the one used for Riptide and Howling Blast, which, unless it's used in some earlier spells, would only have been around since Wrath.
I wouldn't say no to blue spells, but I doubt it's a big priority for anyone over at Blizzard. Considering we use some Earth-based healing as well (Earthliving Weapon, Earth Shield) I'm fine with the idea that HW and LHW, despite the water-sounding name, is using both Water and Earth to keep our friends alive. Through the power of mud!

Maybe enhancement will get some more earthy moves come next xpac since earth is the most physical of the 4 aspects.
I dunno, I feel like I associate Enh most with Air, just because WF is so iconic for us. Plus, we use lots of Lightning spells. But now that I think about it, we use all the elements in our arsenal.
Earth: Earth Shock
Fire: Magma Totem, Flametongue, Lava Lash
Water: Maelstrom Weapon (not all that watery in effect, but the name's definitely watery)
Air: Windfury, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lightning Shield, Stormstrike
