...lol?
Bored the other night on my 80 hunter, I slaughtered murlocs in northern Tirisfal Glades. Then went to north-Eastern corner and started swimming towards Ghostlands. Came across a little peninsula, with a large white tower, a wooden jetty, and nelf ruins. Nice pretty little place :) Could make it a guild meeting place. Keep swimming north, and it takes you around to Eastern Plaguelands, (look on the map, it shows that you are swimming
through
Ghostlands) where you can run around the empty DK starting zone. Everything is there, but no NPC's or characters. Spooky.
Makes me want to swim around all 3 continents.

That's Quel'Thalas before TBC came along, it even has its own zone name. Since the TBC zones are in a seperate instance if you try to get to them you'll end up in the "original" Quel'Thalas that is just that little spot of land. Nice quiet little area.
And no, you can't get banned for visiting there since you can just swim there with no creative terrain exploits. You get banned for getting into an area that is supposed to be blocked off (which Quel'Thalas is not) like current Hyjal. You have to use some terrain exploiting to get back there, and now they've got the debuff that teleports you out. Continuously trying to get into there is what gets you in trouble.
For swimming all around the continents, another neat little area is the Tauren-style "village" on the southern coast of Silithus. Easiest to get there by swimming from Tanaris.

They're all on Youtube.
I saw one on how to get to the dancing troll village in Moonglade and another on how to get under org/uc/sw/if.
They're pretty fun if you have time and if Blizz didnt want us going to these secret areas then why implement them in the game?

Old GM Island (In the ocean southeast of Tanaris. Must have a death knight with Path of Frost or a Shaman with Water Walking.)
It's not an Old GM Island, it was part of the quest chain that had to do with opening the gates of AQ.

Not all of them (For example, the ones you can just swim to are fair game) but ones where you have to do something weird to get to (like jumping off of teldrassil and using slow fall, etc)

well after the next expansion, when they add flying to the old world and finish up all the "unfinished" areas, there will no longer be any "You get banned if you go there" spots.
