[Saronite Ore] ... smelt/vendor or what?

I've got an alt level 70 that I use to farm ore in Sholazar. It's a warrior in blue/epic stuff from TBC + 150% flying speed mount. I've spent few time farming nodes in this area and I ended up with an absurd amount of Saronite Ore. Even in peak hours and with a relatively-slow mount... this zone is a ore/herb heaven.
Now the question is: how do I sell this damned Saronite? I have had zero problems selling Cobalt Ore from Howling Fjord, to be honest. A full Cobalt stack on my server goes for 20+ gold. Sarnonite? It's just impossible to sell (absurd AH fee + absurd competition). Even offering a decent price (13-15G/stack) I could not find any JC interested in my 35 stacks.
Do I have to just abandon Saronite and go back to Cobalt?

Shadowsong Europe. So you think that's a fair price? Damn, no one ever bothered to whisper me something...

I usually see it for about 15g/stack of 20 ore. The fact is just what you said: it is really easy to get, and it takes two ore to smelt one bar instad of just 1 ore/bar. For both of these reasons, saronite ore is cheaper.
Considering the profession bonus + gold income, it sounds like dropping Mining for something better... is the way to go :|.
Titansteel cooldown could be the only interesting thing (mats are not expensive and Titansteel should sell. But.. isa it worth keeping a profession for that? Hmmm...

Is it? I still have too many doubts. Looking at AH it seems not worth at all to keep this profession on my alt (that I use just to farm/craft).
On my server 1 Titansteel Bar goes for 160-170G. Considering mats prices (around 140-150G), I would get a neat income of 20G. Not worth a 20hrs cooldown, in my opinion. I guess I will do something else on this 70 alt: drop Skinning in favor of JC, level to 400-450 and go for dailies and prospecting. Will see.

If you have that much saronite I would assume you would have the mats for at least 5 titansteel bars.
Yes. But if a Titansteel Bar is (almost) equal to mats prices, I see no point in using a CD and selling the bar. I will just gather stacks of mats and sell them. On the contrary, Alchemy on my main works the opposite: I buy mats for very low prices (20-25G) and re-sell gems obtained via transmutation (1 per day) for a neat income of 120-150G at least). In that case I DO use the cooldown, because it's very profitable.

/facepalm ... 20g > 0g. And try to not buy from AH but directly from people. Usually you can easy get mats for 75% of AH price.

On my server CD is 10G unless you find a clueless player. Ofc even 1G > 0G, if that's the point.

1) He will spend a ton of gold to power lvl JC.
2) If he sell the dragon eye, he wont be able to buy gem patterns (and vice versa)
3) icy prism can give good stuff just like be a waste of gold depending of your server orb price.
4) JC only gems give about same bonus (for stam of course). I dont know what role his alt is.
5) So at this point, it would take sometime before JC overcome the lose of gold he would have made with mining + JC powerlvling
But anyway, its up to him. I dont care.

On my server (Thunderlord) it is more profitable to vendor stacks of Saronite Bars than it is to attempt to AH it as Ore. People were dumb enough to push the AH value below the vendor value, and it never recovered.

... This could be fixed easily. Buy em all and make em bar to vendor em. You make a profit and remove them from the market, making price to raise up.

I've leveled 2 double-gatherer alts (mine/skin) and couldn't be happier about how it turned out financially.
Best option would be leveling 1 druid herb/miner or a pally/DK for 20% increased movement... But your solution is the way to go I bet ;)

Not everyone has the funds to buyout an entire market, especially one that is as common as Saronite.
He said that ore was selling for less than Vendor. This mean as soon as you can buy 1 stack, you can buy the whole market that are in that price range.

i don't know how much saronite vendors on your servers (i'm assuming the same as all servers) but snatch up a stack, smelt it into bars, and then vendor it for 25 gold a stack, easy money for such a common ore.
