Ret - haste for GCD?

Ok, so we all know that haste is one of the dump stats for Ret pallies. Right up there along with Spirit. This is because as far as DPS goes, Haste only influences melee DPS (and associated seal procs), and by miniscule amounts.
Right?
Ok, so with the change to Crusader Strike to be on a 4 second cooldown, has anyone looked at stacking haste to get a 1.33sec GCD, in order to smooth out rotations and keep as close to 100% uptime on everything?
At the moment, we do have gaps here and there, but in part, that's because we're delaying abilities to use CS. What if we didn't need to?
Eg:
0: Crusader Strike
1.5: Judgement
3: Consecration
4.5: Crusader Strike
vs
0: Crusader Strike
1.5: Judgement
4: Crusader Strike
5.5: Consecration
vs
0: Crusader Strike
1.33: Judgement
2.66: Consecration
4: Crusader Strike
Rawr and other stat weighting calculators generally don't include this factor in, because there would be certain break-points you would need to hit before you would get any benefit. But realistically, has anyone tried to model a rotation using a 1.33sec cooldown?

0.00 CS
1.33 JoL
2.67 DS
4.00 CS
5.33 Cons
6.67 Exo
8.00 CS
9.33 JoL
Gap (1.33 secs)
12.00 CS
13.33 DS
Gap (0.67 secs)
15.33 Cons
16.67 CS
18.00 JoL
Gap (1.33 secs)
20.67 CS
22.00 Exo
23.33 DS
24.67 CS
26.00 JoL
27.33 Cons
28.67 CS
30.00
Repeat
That's the most efficient rotation I can come up with. Total of 2 seconds of downtime every 16.67 seconds.
Thanks a lot squish :P All that work for nothing

Haste doesn't effect melee GCD, as far as I know anyways, which makes this entire idea obsolete.

Indeed I started to write up a new prot rotation a few months ago, got about 15 min in and realize haste doesn't do &*!@ for melee GCD. /wrists

Ah shucks, that sucks...
How about ranged melee attacks like Judgement or Avenger's Shield? :P
It'd speed up GCDs from Consecrate and Exorcism. Not quite the awesomeness that I'd hoped for, but there may still be a couple of breakpoints. Oh well, when I have more time.
Sorry Hyper - can't help being an ignoramus :)

Unless you reduce the GCD to 1.25 or 1 second it won't be of much effect.
Your time frame is basically dictated by Crusader Strike at 4 seconds, due to GCD you can put in 1 attack between every Crusader Strike.
If you were to reduce GCD to 1.25 seconds, you can fit in 2 attacks that are reduced, which would mean that you would be able to use Consecration and Exorcism, but not a combination of anything else in between.
If you were to reduce it to 1.0 seconds, then you'd be able to pair Exorcism or Consecration with any other ability, such as Divine Storm.

Edit: did a quick filter and saw that to get GCD to 1.25 seconds without dropping other stats, you need access to 245+ gear, or use the battlemaster trinket.

Well, at the moment, are you opening with two attacks between your first two Crusader Strikes, or are you only using one, then waiting 1sec for Crusader Strike to come off CD?
Consecration and Exorcism isn't too bad, considering that they come on 8 and 15 second cooldowns. You'd slot them in as we used to with Exo / Avenger's Shield in a 9-6 rotation - Exorcism every 4 CS's, Consecration every 2. It's possible that a 0.25sec delay in CS may be better than not using any abilities for 1sec while waiting for CS.

What do you mean by 'without dropping other stats'? We're assuming that a more efficient rotation will result in higher DPS, to be offset partially (or completely) by decreased Str/Crit/etc by dumping for Haste. So it's about picking the most 'efficient' items (eg, drops Stam, ArPen, etc) on equivalent ilvl gear for the tradeoffs. You could calculate what the 'loss' on the item is by reversing the basic stat weighting.

My source for the cap compendium has mostly been:
http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t29453-combat_ratings_level_80_a/
Which is much more up to date than wowwiki and also much more accurate.
Never heard of any patch notes about reducing the haste rating required for 1% to be reduced but i'll look into it.
Until i find anything else i'll stick with Whitetooh.

That still won't change our GCDs much :(
DPS-usage Spells that'll be affected by hasted GCDs (actually quite a nice list):
Consecration
Exorcism
Holy Wrath
Hammer of Wrath
Sacred Shield
Flash of Light (for considering instant-cast AoW procs)
Divine Shield/Sacrifice/Protection/Plea
Hand of Protection/Salvation/Freedom
Blessings (not that you should be using them mid-fight)
Seals (for changing seals mid-fight if necessary)
Spells that
won't
be affected:
Crusader Strike
Divine Storm
Judgement
Hammer of the Righteous
Shield of Righteousness
Avenger's Shield (if it's considered a ranged attack, which we're 90% sure it is)
Spells that I've got no idea about:
Hammer of Justice
Repentance

Found
the source
(scroll down to the Classes: General of 3.1.0):
Classes: General
Haste Rating: shamans, paladins, druids, and death knights now receive 30% more melee haste from Haste Rating.
What the actual haste rating per 1% is I took off of WoWWiki, but they may be wrong.
30% more would be like 25.22 so i'm assuming the 25.21 number from wowwiki is right since blizz doesnt really say it's going to be 30.0674335581118603728679095597% more.

You could refresh Sacred Shield every 32 seconds, Divine Plea every 64 seconds. That still leaves 5 'spell' spells free.
If you're up against undead, you could use Holy Wrath every 32 seconds, leaving 3 spells free.
The problem with this is that you're using Divine Storm once every 16 seconds, which will probably negate any benefit you're getting from 100% CS uptime. So you'd need to shuffle and slot DS in every 12 seconds instead. If you do that, you'll clash with the nice Judgement/Consecration block, so you'd need to run either Consecration or Judgement every 12 seconds instead.
Still, the cost in stats given up is probably too high. Maybe a 1.25 sec build is better.
0: CS
1.5: Judgement
3: Divine Storm
4.5: CS (0.5sec delay)
6: Exorcism
7.25: Consecration
8.5: CS (no delay)
10: Judgement (0.5sec delay)
11.5: <spell - SS or DP>
12.75: CS (0.25sec delay)
14.25: Divine Storm (1.25sec delay)
15.75: Consecration (0.5sec delay)
17: CS (0.25sec delay)
18.5: Judgement (0.5sec delay)
20: <spell - SS or DP>
21.25: CS (0.25sec delay)
22.75: Exorcism (1.75sec delay)
24: Consecration (0.25sec delay)
25.25: CS (no delay)
26.75: Judgement (0.25sec delay)
28.25: Divine Storm (4sec delay)
29.75: CS (0.5sec delay)
31.25: <spell - SS or DP or otherwise>
32.5: Consecration (0.5sec delay)
33.75: CS (no delay)
35.25: Judgement (0.5sec delay)
36.75: <spell>
38: CS (0.25sec delay)
39.5: Divine Storm (1.25sec delay)
41: Exorcism (3.25sec delay)
42.25: CS (0.25sec delay)
43.75: Judgement (0.5sec delay)
45.25: Consecration: (4.75sec delay)
Uptimes:
1 sec
CS: 100% uptime
Judgement: 100% uptime
DS: 10/16 = 62.5% uptime
Consecration: 100% uptime
Exorcism: 15/16 = 93.75% uptime
1.25sec
CS: 2.25secs delay on 10 uses (not counting initial one) = 94.67% uptime
Judgement: 2.25secs delay on 5 uses = 94.67% uptime
DS: 6.5 secs delay on 3 uses = 82.19% uptime
Consecration: 6 secs delay on 4 uses = 84.21% uptime
Exorcism: 5 secs delay on 2 uses = 85.71% uptime
Can someone link me the 37 sec conventional FCFS rotation to calculate uptimes? My computer's chucking a spaz at me and I can't look things up properly.

Ta.
CS: 32/34.5 = 92.75% uptime
Judgement: 92.75% uptime
DS: 30/34.5 = 86.96% uptime
Consecration: 86.96% uptime (assuming glyphed, otherwise 69.57%)
Exorcism: 86.96% uptime
So in summary:
1.5sec 1.25sec 1sec
CS: 92.75% 94.67% 100.00%
Judgement: 92.75% 94.67% 100.00%
DS: 86.96% 82.19% 62.500%
Cons: 86.96% 84.21% 100.00%
Exo: 86.96% 85.71% 93.75%
