If you're going to level as healing spec, it's not gonna be fun no matter what. But of the 2, druid would be for leveling as healing spec. However, if you are talking about at 80, It's completly up to you. Whether you like HoTs constantly or constantly using LHW and Chain Heal.
I'm currently working on my shaman, who will be resto at 80 and I have a resto druid already 80.

ahh what I meant about ease of leveling is to level with feral for druid and
enchantment
for shammy @_@
1) Find lots of BoE greens / BoP blues
2) DE them
3) Enchant stuff to level up
4) Visit trainer and train
5) Go back to 1
Oh, you meant
Enhancement
?

I personally find druid really, really boring. As Balance, it's just Faerie Fire, insect swarm, starfire/wrath ad nauseum until Eclipse procs, as a feral tank, it's just mangle/swipe spam, and resto it's just keeping tabs of hots. I've heard kitty dps is a lot more complicated, but I haven't bothered to try. (Tauren cat is made of so much fail.)
Yea... Cuz spamming Chain Heal and LHW are MUUUUCH more difficult...
"yea I think druids are boring, I know there's a more complicated spec if I want to try that, but I'd rather just call them boring overall"
Sarcasm aside. The whole game is just pushing buttons so do which ever button pushing makes you happy, since right now both are competitive as PvE healers and PvP healers, It's really a preference choice.

The question you really have to ask yourself is "When I hit 80 and am resto healing, do I want to be able to really be myself or do I want to be a tree?"

There's a difference between a difficult to play spec, and a hideously tedious to play spec. Kitty dps is about juggling bleeds and combo points, which, while it may be your thing, is certainly not mine.
Resto druid is all about staring blankly at hots and refreshing them. It's very exciting to go through an entire raid instance... and not actually remember a thing aside from flashing hot icons.
At least you get a cool animation to go with your spam spell.
My point is that it's that way with any healer. In my opinion, less so with druid healers, because once you get the hang of it you have 7-10 seconds (depending on spec/glyph/decision to let LB pop) before you have to heal again.
I'm not trying to cause an argument here, I'm just asking that you try to not to bash druids for being disinteresting and "spammy", when other healers spam with the same, or more, frequency.
As far as cats go... for now we'll have to agree to disagree, because this thread's about healing. :)

I was in much the same situation as the thread's OP. Wanting to roll a healer but not wanting to transfer my priest, I was stuck between a druid or shaman.
Shaman won out because of three things:
1) Bloodlust is always useful
2) With dual speccing, I can switch from an elemental to resto spec and go dps dailies without really needing to switch my entire outfit
3) The Horde's forms, especially cat, are UGLY AS HELL
Druids felt a little more fun to level though, because it's more complex and varied.
Roll both to 20 or so and see which one you like more. If you want to look badass, be a shaman. If you could care less what your character looks like, go druid.
