lol, I do that too. especially the DK thing hehe
It's even harder to estimate the effectiveness of your PUG nowadays, because most people for "some" reason are pretty much well geared nowadays so not even gear helps you much ( the enchants / gems help however )
In TBC and Vanilla I used to frown upon Moonkins, DPS warriors and Retris, but they're all pretty okay nowadays :)

I've had a few bad DK experiences too.
But then I've had "Bad warlock" and "Bad mage" experiences and so on...
It is all about the player not the class. I have played with two or three really good DKs in my guild. If a player is polite and seems to be working well within the group, it's all good. If they start out going "summon me!" the second they join the group, it doesn't generally bode well for things to come.

I'm not a classist, but I am a
name-ist
.
A rogue named Gankstar or Backstabba? I'm clawing my eyes out.
A hunter named Laygolass? I want lead so I can kick.
The word Death or Knight, in any iteration, in a DK's name? I'm predicting epic fail.
Anything remotely approaching Drizzt by any class? I'm hopping onto the allies' Ventrilo so they can gank him until he logs.
Anime references? Shoot... me... now.
This isn't just me cringing at the name choice. My usual source for names is Japanese swear words, so I have no kicks coming there. But these sorts of names are in my experience taken by terrible players, nearly without exception.

When you see a specific class enter your pug group for any instance/raid, do you pass judgement on them immediately because of their class? Are you a
classist
?
I know I am. After playing with one of, if not
the
best, hunter ever I find that I automatically assume any hunter in a pug is going to suck. It helps me that I'm usually right.
Also, Death Knights. I have ZERO respect for DKs by default. They have to earn it. Everybody else starts at 50/100 on my respect scale, DKS start at 0.
Horrible until proven worthy.
This is the sort of attitude that invariably annoys me, perhaps because I am a Death Knight. In fact, it almost seems like flame bait...
Judge people based on their performance. There are members of every class that do not play it effectively. There are members that play it extremely well. I would encourage people to figure out which kind you are dealing with before you decide they are "unworthy", and don't let it color your outlook on an entire class. I've met many awesome players that I otherwise never would have met if I let previous experiences color my present attitude.

I wouldn't say I'm classist, but I am careful about what people do. Leveling my DK through BC, I ran a few instances. most of them were in Coilfang Reservoir.
One part in the instance requires you to jump off a bridge and into a deep pool of water. Our healer was a shaman, and he decided to cast Water Walking on people as they jumped down.
Shaman: "Lol, I was going to ress you anyways"
He then proceeded to jump in front of patrols the whole instance and wiped us 3 time, before we finally finished. To this day, I don't know why the group leader didn't kick him, but I just hope I never run into him again, and I've been lucky in that aspect.
Playing a DK, you do get alot of hate. I've also noticed that people on my realm are starting to exclude Ret Paladins too. It's not uncommon to see in trade chat "LF2M DPS 25 man VoA, No DK's or Ret Pallies plz."
Mostly though, I don't understand what people want from DK's. Yes, we start at level 55, but if a person doesn't know where the weapon merchants are, or what skill points are, or what presence to use, isn't this the fault of the player, not the class?

My DK is named Deathpwnzer. You want to know why because I had created him the minute the game was installed when the servers opened. Do I wish I had picked a different name HELL YEAH I hate that name now everyone says NOOB DK because of it. So I feel bad but don't have the money to put in for a name change. Although I have built a good rep with alot of the healers on the realm... They all say I make healing boring.

Honestly, I am.. and i can admit it.
The two big ones are Hunters and DPS DK's.
I'm also weary of Ret Pallies to a lesser degree.
I honestly don't think it is 'classism' if you have a large sample size (I run a lot of pugs) that shows a clear statistical average for those particular classes to be 'bad'. Of course those classes can be good, just like other classes can be bad.. but statistically, based on my rather large experience, those classes have more of a chance to be bad.
It's usually pretty easy to tell right away.
1. The DK pulls aggro right away, or grasps a target, or throws down his AOE that says in the description " causes high amount of threat".
2. The hunter's pet runs wild.
Those are the two biggest blockhead moves I usually see.
Subpar DPS isn't nearly as bad as players doing stupid things to cause wipes. DK's pulling aggro and loose pets are two of those things that happen frequently.

Why do I like the "noob" classes really I play a Pally, DK, and a Hunter. Hunter my pet is set on passive when runing instances and I just tell him to attack. The Dk well he is a tank. The Pally is currently Holy was Prot but switched when wrath hit. But yeah I have seen these Teribad people playing. ret pallies pulling 1.2k dps hunters pets pulling mobs or them Mding the healer, DKs Deathgriping the mobs( DnD isn't so bad if the tank has aggroo good as it will pick up the dps alot.
