Really? Wow It's either always been like that o I havent used it for a long long time. Proc % makes sence with that little detail. Yeah use it I dont mind. I liek your formula best as mine didnt curve (how they should)
Been like that always. It's what made reckoning bombings possible (and stacking ofcourse) :) <3 vanilla
Yea i couldnt even get your formulas to work so i like mine better too ^^
Well im about to run the numbers through my spreadsheet and put my pretty code boxes back up but i'll let your pwetty picture stay there in case someone is color blind oO.

Oh I knew it applied way back then. For some reason when they changed it to 4 swing thing i though- eh, well, this is better anyway. Much better uptime though Kazaak isn't exactly fearfull as he once was.

Have you taken into account the difference between rank 5 and the other ranks? With rank 5 reckoning procs on a block whereas at 1-4 it only procs on a hit.

All ranks proc from blocks and hits.
The blizzard tooltip department has once again failed in their job.
All calculations were made taking block into account for that matter.
We only used a 50% avoidance factor which is all that is necessary since the other 50% (hits and blocks) proc reckoning.

Sorry, my first post was a bit misleading. The tooltip for ranks 1 to 4 state that reckoning only procs from a damaging attack. It can proc from a block but only if the block doesn't stop all the damage.
The tooltip for rank 5 is different, it indicates that it procs from a block
or
from a damaging attack so even a total block will still allow it to proc.
Assuming that the tooltip is correct there is a qualitative difference between ranks 4 and 5 which is greater than just the 2% proc chance.
Now, I know that you seem to have little faith in Blizzard's tooltips but they do fix their tooltips and I've seen this tooltip read the same thing for the last three patches at least, so it seems to me a bit unlikely that the tooltip is incorrect after all this time.
Or are you aware of a Blizzard post stating an error?

I understood your post fully blizzard has only updated the rank 5 tooltip all other ranks can proc from blocks even if they stop all the damage.

This is where the tooltip department failed. They only updated rank 5.

Indeed ranks below 5 would give a 0% uptime for atleast half of the prot tanks since they're block capped.
Now, I know that you seem to have little faith in Blizzard's tooltips but they do fix their tooltips and I've seen this tooltip read the same thing for the last three patches at least, so it seems to me a bit unlikely that the tooltip is incorrect after all this time.
It's not just as it seems ;p They indeed do fix their tooltips but it has a very low priority and if tooltips are partially right it often takes a very long time for them to fix it.
Or are you aware of a Blizzard post stating an error?
Sorry no but i've seen alot of posts that confirm this. Cant give you any sources at this moment though.
