My favorite weird pet had to be the lv 11 scorpid named Death Flayer near Orgrimmar. He has the same markings as the honor-bought high lv pets. Yet he starts out with about 1000 to 1200 armor once you tame him (as far as armor goes, thats like having a big shield on a crab and a poisonous tail to go with it). He's a great tanking pet, but you have to remember you build your beastmastery spec (specifically any combat stat contribution traits) so he isn't chewed up and spit out due to his low stamina. Oh, and don't forget to seek out pets with greater versions of the Claw ability (i don't think they can learn dash or bite, so Scorpid Poison, and Claw are what you should focus on). If u like scorpids he's an excellent starter and I hope others feel the same.

Hmm... The only pets you can get for rep are Vanity pets (Non-combat pets).

He was probably messing with you :(

My best suggestion:

Boar for PvP
Ravager/Cat for PvE

Also, what level are you? Might help me give you a bit of better advice, pet-wise.
