Seal of Disapproval
I put the seal because their are probaly 14 other threads of this in this forum section alone, and yes, you should have self-control over the game, if you really have that problem, step back for a minute.

I took a break for almost a year and a half after playing since release. But it always draws you back in even if it takes it a while. :P But on the bright side I have way more control over the "addiction" now, not as hard to just log out and go do stuff irl as it used to be.

There is not reason to ever quit as long as you are still having fun when you play. With my first 70, I was pretty addicted. I had trouble in school that semester but it was only the leveling that got me addicted. After I was 70, I had no trouble putting the game down when I needed to do other things. My last 1.5 years in college limited my playtime to get projects done and go to work. Some weeks I didn't play at all, and then the next week I would play 25+ hours. Guilds didn't work out so well when my playtime changed so much. After I graduated, I had a much more consistant schedule. I play in casual guilds that don't demand me to be on all the time. We have 1-2 raid days a week, which are planned ahead of time. It's easy to make time for it knowing how long and when it will be.
