So don't tell me the quests is designed with pvp in mind, thats bollox..
Except they are. Like you pointed out, these are just "normal" quests on PVP servers. You're always flagged, so it's not an issue. The entire area is designed to be a PVP hotspot for PVE servers. Hence the quests flag you. If you want the cheese they're dangling in front of you, you have to consent to being flagged. You consider this a nuisance, which is a fair enough complaint - but saying people on PVE servers shouldn't PVP in an area designed for PVP on PVE servers is silly. That's all I was saying. ;)

So using that logic, what's the point of the hellfire quest to kill a wandering (alliance) mob that flags you for no particular reason?
Yes, there's world pvp in the zone, but it's not connected to this quest chain. Notice I said chain. None of the other quests have anything to do with "Kill the Alliance scum", etc. It's just a random "we're going to flag you" quest, and of course the Alliance people (most notably druids/rogues) stealth and follow the pat, ganking unwary questers.

I assume you mean the blood elf guy that stalks up and down the road on his chicken mount outside of Falcon Watch? I don't know if there is any logic behind ending up flagged when you go smack him. It's random, and you're not given a warning. I chalked it up to an oversight and went on about my merry way. The PVP objectives in the zone are not related to this quest in any way, shape or form. They have their own quests - which, surprise, you have to be flagged to participate in.
There's a pretty big difference between "holy $#^& how'd I get flagged!" and quests that are secluded on their own little area of the map and warn you that you're going to be flagged as soon as you pick them up. They're daily quests no less. One of these is random - the other you are given fair warning and must consent to before continuing.
The quests awards no honor and there is no overall objective to be won, it's like blizzard just picked 5 random quests and decided to flag the npcs.
On another note - I missed this before. This simply isn't true because there
is
an objective to be won. You won't even have access to the vendor unless your faction controls the lighthouse. How do you think one goes about controlling said lighthouse? ;)

Fair point, I just had to be the dissenting voice, showing the other side a little. :)
It's a character flaw.

Don't get me wrong, I love a nice challenging pvp fight every now and then, hell, I play on a pvp server, but I don't care *what* the game is based around, all the lore in the world can't make me feel happy when some level 80 corpse camps my level 20 alt for a half hour because he thinks it's funny, there is nothing fair about it, and I just don't see how it's fun.
No matter how you spin it, it's really *!@#ing annoying.

This was my point. Well said, Starkie.

If you flag yourself, you're setting yourself up for the consequences...plain and simple.
