This is a really interesting thread, so I'm bringing it back to life.
Did you really necro this thread in SUPPORT of Mangle-spamming?
I hope this one gets locked. It's case-closed.
Lightrain knows what he's talking about, and has proven it many times over.
Lightrain says use Shred, and gave a very thorough explanation as to why.
That's all you need to know.

Thanks for the useless repeat of info Heckler. I never said that Mangle was the only thing that i'd use, but it happens to be more useful to get an attack when you CANT get a shred off. I was asking for advice, that is all. I guess with the attitude that continues to plague the druid forum instead of actual discussion, I'll go elsewhere.

I only have battleground experience on my feral pvp druid as of now (not 80 yet :) ) but from my experience I've learned that stealthing, feral charge-cat, followed by a pounce leaves you enough energy for 2 shreds while they're stunned, maybe 3 depending. You should have IF (duh?) which means your shreds just lowered them to 50% movement speed. That itself makes it easier to throw a mangle, throw some bleeds, and then just get behind him. Everytime you shred (or hell, mangle if you have to) it'll reset the timer on IF. So unless they have a way out of that consistantly, it shouldn't be THAT hard to get behind them and shred spam, even with lag.
Wall-o-text, but my two cents. :D

Fair enough, my apologies for being a jerk. I suppose I was just irritated because I re-read this entire post and didn't realize it was a necro until I got to pelf's comment which I recognized, because I'd already read this thread 2 months ago.
I also apologize for assuming you
only
wanted to mangle-spam, but in my defense, why would you ask for Gear / Glyph advice on something you only plan to do when Shred isn't possible? It sure sounded to me like you were saying "I'm going to mangle spam, how can I mangle spam better?"
Anyways, you're right, responses like mine aren't constructive, and I usually refrain from posting them... my bad.

Hey Heck, apology accepted. It's been a long time since I've messed with feral so I'm sure part of the fault is mine by me not being clear enough. I didn't make it clear that I think that Shred is great, and I like it when I can get it in, but i've hit plenty of opponents that make it difficult to shred all the time.
With respect to this, I dont see the Shred glyph being a good feral pvp choice (maybe this would have made more sense if I had layed this out clearer... I was assuming a thought pattern that didnt help you so I apologize)... it just seems too unreliable.
So maybe it would be better to phrase it this way:
I'm looking to feral pvp. I've been out of the feral scene for a while, especially for pvp (though not pvp as a tree). I need help for choosing:
1. Glyphs (many seem very iffy for pvp)
2. Stats (resilience? AP/STR > ArP? Agi?)

While I can't give you any constructive advice, Lightrain's 3.2 Feral PvP Guide is full of great information, so if you haven't read through that yet, I'd recommend it; it's quite comprehensive and covers both of your questions:

Wow, when did he do that? That's what I needed :D

Hehe, your first post did very much sound like you were pro mangle spamming and wanted to spec, glyph, and gear for it. I assumed the same and proceeded to squash the idea. =)
PvE spec is better for solo against mobs, but once you get enough gear, normal mobs drop in about the same amount of time reguardless unless they parry or dodge.

It's still a totally pro move :).

Yeah, I see how it does come across that way. I am pro-mangle spamming at the right times, and those times seem to occur more often for me lately. Really, my question was more about feral pvp in general... and that guide really answers a lot of questions.

I'm glad it helped! =)
