Hi.
Althought I never created an user until now, I have been an user of wowhead since quite some time.
I love this website, its performance and everything.
But lately, there is something destroting this experience, and it is one of the publicity adds.
I understand COMPLETELY that publicity is required for your sustain and keep the server and programmers up.
I'm not against publicity in any way.
But one of the adds, turns my Web Browser Window small, redirects me from the item/quest or whatever I'm checking on your website, and suggest me to install something that will "protect me".
I'm OK saying "NO, I don't need anything, thanks", but I cannot stand that this AWESOME website get something that breaks completely its experience.
I cannot say which add is exactly but it is something offering me protection because my computer is in danger (Oh Yeah, I believe you XD)
I have tried this with Mozilla and IE, results are the same, I lose track of whatever I was checking on wowhead.
Am I the only one with this problem?

That's what I thought on the first place and nothing showed up.
But as far as I've seen, it happens in all computers I checked (And not all can have the very same spyware that ONLY shows up when you check Wowhead).
The add itself is in spanish (I'm from spain) so it maybe just one wrong add or something. I promise to post more information as soon as I find it.

I have the same problem once in a while.
And it was on my home pc and on my work pc.
And they are both virus/malware free.
I think its a javascript loaded through advert iframe.
Edit: I just had it again. Made a
screenshot
this time!
I dont think it does any harm though. Just an anoying redirect.

This is not caused by spyware on the client pc being used, it's a dirty advertisement.
I just had it show up for me as well, and I'm running Firefox on Linux which kinda rules out spyware being the cause :P

Reporting Advertisements:
http://www.wowhead.com/?forums&topic=142&p=1312
If this is indeed the result of an advertisement on the site, we need as much data as possible so that action may be taken. Please consult the thread posted above for more information on reporting advertisements on Wowhead.

There is a work around in Firfox for the resizing of your screen :-)
Go to advanced javascript settings. And uncheck the setting that lets javascript move and resize your windows.

Moved to Site Feedback.
This only appears to be affecting users in the Finland, Sweden, Netherlands area so it must be an ad provider that's specifically targetted over there. We're doing our best to remove it--obviously, this one is hard to trace. :)
