But really, the patch has been extraordinarily kind to paladins, prot got slight buff (RF is not a nerf, it's a fix), ret slight buff and they didn't touch holy.
Touched by the Light:
"This talent now provides 20/40/60% of the paladin's strength as spell power instead of 10/20/30% of the paladin's stamina."
This was the "fix" that was given to prot. It was done to prevent prot healers in arena from gaining huge spell power simply by wearing the high stam PVP gear.
There were a couple nerfs to prot.
Ardent Defender:
"This talent now reduces damage taken below 35% health by 7/13/20% instead of 10/20/30%."
Judgements of the Just:
"The reduction in cooldown to Hammer of Justice provided by this talent has been reduced to 5/10 seconds instead of 10/20 seconds."
Rightous Fury
"The amount of addition threat cause by holy damage has been reduced from 90% to 80%"
The most important one is this last on, it puts are threat more in the ball park with other tank classes. while not a huge nerf, its a nerf none the less.
Any thoughts?
Unless your healer likes to keep your at under 35%, you shouldn't be taking more damage. You will take 10% more damage in the 35% and under health range.

Hat

On my wowhead profile right now....
http://www.wowhead.com/?profile=14368228
....I have 1502 STR and 3299 STA
I was a bit worried before about a loss of spell power from the 30%STA to 60% STR converstion, but it all came down to the DK's horn of winter or shammens totem of strenght, which add 155 STR to party/raid members.
In a 5 man you might or might not have a DK or a shammen, but in a 10 or 25 man raid, chances are pretty good your going to have that buff.
Here's the math then
5 man group
Old SP = 3299 * 1.1 (for kings) * .3 = 1088.6
New SP= 1502 *1.1 (for kings) * .6 = 991.3
Thats a loss of 97 Spell power.
10/25 man group with DK/shammen
Old SP = 3299 * 1.1 (for kings) * .3 = 1088.6
New SP = (1502+155) * 1.1 * .6 = 1093.6
Thats a gain of 5 Spell power.
Unlike other paladins I do try to get every possible socket bonus, and don't stack pure stam forgetting about the rest. but even if i did stack stam the loss in SP would probably be around 10-20 SP, you are not going to notice that in your overall threat.

Lower geared pallies generally have Str and Stam much closer to each other. So lower geared pallies are more likely to have seen a boost to SP. Higher geared pallies generally have far and away more stamina than 2x Strength.
Hat, in your example, you've got 1500 Str and 3300 Stam, and then you factor in Horn of Winter. But then, you also need to factor in Power Word: Fortitude too, which gives you 165 * 1.3 (talented) = 215 Stam. Add in Kings, and that's about 236 Stam, or 70 SP that you're not factoring in.

Then there's also 40 stamina from food as a constant. You can also get 40 str from food, but who tanks with str food? Not many, I'm guessing.

It's str/stam.
Point. Still doesn't make up the difference though... closes the gap by 12 SP?

Maybe in a 5 man, but in a 10 or 25 you generally have the AP/SP/Stam buff from feasts.

Ahh, thanks man,
I'm a blacksmith and I just learned the
Plans: Saronite Swordbreakers
These will be a nice sidegrade to the ones i currently have. Now i just need to get my hands on 4
Crusader Orb
>_<.
Unfortunatly, the 245 gear, stuff that main people will be holding at is lacking in hit. I need to look at it again, but i think with some 258 gear the hit comes back up. 258 gear is not that easy to come by tho.
oh well, One boss at a time I guess,

Unfortunatly I am at work right now, and these lab computers don't load the armory. Infact the only thing that they really load well is wowhead.
If you have a second i recommend you make youself a wowhead profile. It loads data strait from the armory!
I went quickly and check too.....258 gear does not look good for hit still.
Liadrin's Legguards of Triumph
are going to be a must. And comparaply they arn't that bad to the none set peice.
I think you'll find as your gear score goes up your expertise is going to skyrocket and your hit is going to tank hard. 76 hit rigth now for me >_<
