Priest is a class that requires lots of experience to play well^^
most of ppl who browse this have ppl who have their own opinions and lots of differents approaches to the game itself so its normal that it becomes a good place to discuss^^

It's a fun game actually; stay on here, then jump over to the Rogue and Warlock forums and see how long you can stand it before you come back crying. Great job, guys <3

I can't stand the warlock forums, even though I need some of the info over there for my poor, neglected little Lock.
The Mage forums are fun, those guys sure do love their numbers. It's fun to watch their energy and excitement sometimes. And I'll admit that I laugh at them a little bit when they're upset about something that's really not at all a big deal. Or the ones who seem to think that even being buffed proves that blizzard hates them, LoL. But on the whole, it's a fun atmosphere.
But I definitely like the feel of this place. Someone else - and I wish I could remember who - pointed out recently that we're really a support class, no matter our spec as even Shadow Priests provide important benefits to party and raid...and that may influence the personality types that are most drawn to it and the attitude that is brought to the class. And when dealing damage, we're not gods of burst or AoE. We don't get instant payoff for our damage-dealing spells. Patience is a good quality in a priest, both when dealing damage and dealing with other players as a healer.
The Shaman forum seems to be reasonably helpful, too.

I agree with the forums here. I've been posting here off and on for the past few months and there are select few posters that I highly value their opinion on just about any topic...yet I'm constantly finding new posters that have a lot to contribute. And
for the most part
, people only reply on what they know...which helps in keeping confusion to a minimum.
I remember I first came here w/ the nieve impression that disc was still only pvp...now my MS is disc. :D
To comment on Skadja, we truely are a support class. Not only with our buffs but with our spells/talents as well. We are also still the best healing class imo...after all Blizz hasn't found another class worthy of 2 trees devoted to healing!

Hehe, well you probably aren't referring to me at all but meh. *shrug*
On behalf of the priest forums (if I can say that?) thanks. :)
Also, thanks to fellow priests for answering any questions or confusion that I may have had in the past in a helpful way (most the time :D)

I resent that...but it's a possibility I guess...

I'm not sure how true this is, but i read somewhere that women tend to roll priests more than any other class. Could it be that it's mostly women here answering questions and that's why it tends to be more mature? Just throwing that in.
Lol it's like "where's waldo." How many wrong assumptions can you find?
I think there are a few factors involved in this. The most obvious one is that priests are an unglamorous support class. In BC, even spriests were largely support. I.e., team players. It's a generalization of course, and one can be an egomaniac healer as much as one can be an egomaniac rogue. It's just that the rogue class mechanic tends to attract the more ego-driven players, and a support class tends to attract a different type of person.
The other factor is luck. For example, the
official priest boards
are moderately helpful, but still not as sweet as this forum. The official board is not terrible, but it has less "meat," more silliness, and too many people who know less than they think they do.
So it's not merely a function of the class. Kind of like guilds -- they are defined by their core members, and it's those core members who both attract like-minded people and repel people who don't fit.
(Oh, by the way -- a hearty thank you to the OP!)

As a woman, I just want to say...men do NOT have a monopoly on immaturity. =P
I don't think player gender has anything to do with it, seriously. People bring their attitude whether good or bad into arenas of competition and cooperation alike, regardless of what bits they're sporting. Individual attitudes vary ;)

And some of us like em' feisty.
You know, I never really did notice this whole ordeal until this topic mentioned it. I originate from the DK forums (hence the name Zerul, my abandoned DK.) Oh boy, those were some "fun" times.
I really do like you fellow Priests. The good ones aren't snobby or terribly elitist, and the not-so-good ones are willing to learn and don't turn a deaf ear to suggestions.
