Servers vary, but in BG's you always got 10%-50% grinding rep and not really trying even before battle groups.
Not if you ran with a premade. One of my favorite WoW PvP moments was a two hour long battle during pre-BC where my guild running a premade fought another guild running a premade, it was an epic glorious battle, and it ended gloriously as well, an insane stormstriked berserker buffed crit chain lightning to their flag carrier.
Ah... good ^&*!ing memories. I wish instead of releasing arena, they had focused on a rated 10v10 system, added in a couple other 10 on 10 battlegrounds, would have been epic. I mean, arena is alright, but honestly big battles with the intensity of arena matches will always be superior... its sad that intensity was lost with cross server BGs, which killed faction pride, and arena gear, which defeated any point of serious BG PvP.
If they could infuse the intensity of arena back into BGs, and properly reward you, and get class balance/game flow around where it was in season 2... I would resubscribe instantly.

I loved the stage when it was rumoured wow was not really coming out... what did we call it again?
Oh yeh! PHL! People had lives!
No it was called Evercrap... fail
Oh ya, Evercrap was fail alright. Are you kidding me? If it weren't for Everquest, there would likely never have been a World of Warcraft. I know there are plenty of arguments to the contrary, and I'm not sure either side could ever prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Aside from the fact that you actually "needed" skill to raid in Everquest, what exactly about the game are you griping about? World of Warcraft is Everquest...in easy-mode. Like it or not, it's the truth. I've been a die-hard WoW player for three years or so, and left EQ after being a hardcore raider for the better part of seven years. WoW has their large following due to it's superior graphics, the thanks of MMORPG's before them, and the appeal of "easy-mode".
Evercrap? pfft....hardly.
If you watch the Gametrailers.com retrosective on Warcraft they mention that Warcraft rts' were basically a copy and paste image of the Warhammer look. Also that WoW was the work of 2 Everquest players.
Tried to link but the site is up for maintainence atm.... E3 bonanza i guess 8P

Back in the days, downing a raid boss was "something", because it meant that you were good, at least to a certain point.
Bull$%^&. Your whole post is just dumb but this is a stupidity critical hit.
Raids mean way more than they used too, the hard modes we have now actually show whether you're good, before it just showed whether or not you didn't wipe your raid (You were considered a great player if you didn't pull aggro in vanilla).
