I remember I had been to Zul'Gurub so many times, I had memorized just about every boss strategy, and we had a new kid tagging along for the Tiger fight. He was still coming from Darnassus after
"banking his lewt", and for some reason our raid leader decided not to give the strategy over vent until the new guy got here (why I will never know). He's taking forever (I was thinking eBay), and my friend calls, asking me if I wanted to go over to a nearby diner for a bit and hang out with him and some friends. I say sure, I'll go AFK for a while (one of my good friends, played WoW for a bit too. Just didn't click for him unfortunetly :-(). So I PM one of my friends in the raid, and told him I was going to a diner for a bit. He lol'd and said everyone would get so ticked I left.
Before I left, I made sure of someone moving the keyboard so I wouldn't disconnect. My little brother did that for me, and I left. I probably was gone for a good 45 minutes or an hour or so, and I walk in the door to hear I had left vent on pretty loud and could hear lots of groaning. I figured they were wondering where I was since I didn't say anything, and when I got back, I saw the noob was JUST FLYING OVER TO DARKSHIRE! So I thought it would take a while more, and I went off to take a shower. Came back, and the raid leader just ended going over the strategy. We succesfuly downed the boss, and I decided to ask my friend what was going on while I was gone, and this is what my friend told me...
"The guy apparently had to go do some quest in Silithus so he could get more gold to supply his repair bill. He had given all his gold to a 'beggar that had threatend to report him if he didn't', and wanted to see what would happen if he jumped off Teldrassil with res sickness, thinking it would go away. After waiting another 10 minutes, he flys off to Silithus, completes the quest, and hearths to Darnassus begging for a summon to Stormwind. He gets one after 5 minutes of begging the trade channel (apparently endlessly from what one of my friends waiting for a MC raid in Ironforge told me) and starts flying to Duskwood a few seconds after you came back. Then he couldn't figure out how to acess vent when you went off to take your shower, but he finally got it."
He was eventually removed from the guild a few days afterwards. Never seen him since.
Probably in the wrong topic mainly, but with the topic, the raid leader could of atleast said the strategy, even though the guy was across the continent.
I do have to admit I would hate to be one of the people who had to stay and wait on the noob without having something else to do.
But hey, some people, like the guy in my topic, are usually completely oblivious to everything and everyone that it takes a while for a raid leader to get it through their heads. One person back then could mess up an entire 40-man raid, or 20-man of course.
what?
