what do they want to hear?
can you give me some pointers as to how to right a really good personal statement?
Thank you in advance ^_^

They want to hear that you're not a psychotic killer. That's about it.

Tell 'em that you work hard, what your life beliefs are (as long as they aren't weird and will creep them out), maybe some important lesson you learned about life, etc.

I can't give you any advice, other than this: Check your spelling! :D

When writing a personal statement, keep in mind this question: "Why should this university take me over the class nerd next to me?" You need to make it clear that you are unique and valuable addition to their campus.

Unless you are the class nerd, heh.
When I applied to college, I let my SAT score speak for itself. I couldn't imagine having to write some garbage about how "useful" I am, that just seems absolutely retarded (but I guess universities have to "diversify" these days for some reason...) .

I had universities competing over who could give me a better scholarship.

Did SATs at 11. :/
Most universities over here care less about grades, and more about people.
Even Oxbridge want more working class people in their universities these days, to look more PC.

I took it twice. 1500 the first time (before the writing part was added), 2340 the second time.

Really? 2340? And you're just going to some small random university? I'd think that would land you 99th percentile across the board and you'd be able to go to some really high end professional type place.

99.85th percentile to be exact :P
I have no desire to become a 'high end professional.' My one goal in life is to be a high school teacher (yeah, laugh all you want) and a writer.
