horrible change to shield slam. nerf prot dps even more because of too much burst in PVP...pretty lame.
i can only hope they intend to balance this out somewhere else.

Edit: Read the post more carefully, now I see what they did. For tanks, its meh, for pvp warriors, your right, sucks, but what can we do?

Who cares about your dps in prot if you are building the same aggro as before the patch came out.
well, because we lag behind the other tank classes already, so why push us down even more? putting inherent threat into an ability instead of actual damage is how our class worked pre-wotlk; i was under the impression blizz was changing that. this is a big step backward.
if you are pushing for a hard mode timer and tank1 does 1400 dps and tank2 does 2200 dps, which would you pick (assuming everything else is equal)?
i am not complaining because i want to do leet dps. just give all the tanks equal potential.

The Prot changes nerf PvP, but in all honesty, a tanking spec shouldn't be a PvP spec anyway. The only reason it has been is because Blizzard have screwed up the class balance in PvP. So I can't complain if they're trying to address it.
I can understand the shield block change. In PvE, assuming everyone still steers away from Block Value gear (which they should), this will end up being a buff threat wise and nerf damage wise. 2*(damage+770) is greater than 2*damage + 770 . IMHO, I'll take the threat, but it's kind of a wash. In PvP, for those that do PvP as prot, they usually wear full block value gear. You already get some pretty wicked shield slams, and with BV on gear doubling; you should be able to agree that Shield Block doubling the buffed gear's BV would be a little OP.
I'm pretty sure that Bloodrage doesn't activate the GCD, (I might be wrong on that, I don't use it often)
That is correct, it is not on the GCD. As prot I usually only used Bloodrage on the pull and then always forgot about it. So I macroed it into my Heroic Throw and also my Devastate. That way I never miss using it.

wtf are you guys talking about how is the change to Shield Block a nerf its a buff i mean Shield Block already gives us 100% block chance and block rating and now when we use it Shield slam does 100% more threat plz tell me how this is bad?
Because currently Shield Block increases your Block Chance by 100% AND it increases your Block Value by 100%. Currently, that 100% increased Block Value has a noticeable impact on the damage that Shield Slam does.
After the patch, Shield Block will still increase your Block Chance by 100% and increase your Block Value by 100%, but that extra 100% Block Value will have no impact on the damage done by Shield Slam. Instead, it will merely increase the threat of Shield Slam by 100%. The 100% increased Block Value will only affect the amount of damage mitigated by blocking an attack.
