I just saw it like 10 minutes ago. I'm not impressed, At all. It was mostly boring, and had 2 suspenseful moments. Though it was not scary. Where what's her name being dragged from the bed, I thought that was confusing, like wtf? How's that happening? Then the part where she went down and screamed, the guy came down and most likely died. That just ruined the movie right there.
I did like the part where the cops shot her down though. :D

Really? Really? Your not questioning the other odd, "paranormal" stuff that happened? Just that? No questions about the photo frame, the banging, or the shadow? All answered? :D

What's there to question on some of that stuff? The banging was from the demon walking, hitting and slamming doors. The shadow was the demon. I have no idea about the photo though, that part didn't add up aside from the demon taking it after setting fire to her childhood home and then saving the picture so that he could haunt her later. I don't really get what was confusing about her flying out of the bed either. I thought it was pretty obvious; the demon grabbed her by her leg (shown by her leg coming out from under the sheets rapidly) and then dragged her by it, trying to pull her into the attic.
The only question I really have is what does the demon actually look like? It had feet like a birds, that's all that was really given. I'm assuming the demon was
Pazuzu
, but no evidence was given to actually clarify whether or not this was true aside from the little tid-bit on the other girl who was haunted in the movie by the same demon, and comparing her to the girl in The Exorcist.
It was sarcasm, he only seemed puzzled by the dragging part ;)

In my opinion is was great, faulted by only a few things. The low hum whenever the "demon" was present was a tip to get ready for a scare. Only avoided a few times (one being the end), and the "screamer" at the end. Truth be told, I was waiting for it the whole movie, cheap scares are easy, and the most used. What made this movie great was that it stayed around the unsettling, creepy atmosphere, generally not letting it get too calm, or too scary. So as not to down play any of the actual content.
It's good in it's own right, don't compare it to horror movies, because it's not. At least when juxtaposed against the modern formula, you'll only find a few common elements that are present in few movies; lack of music, relying on environmental noise, shaky camera, low quality aspect and design. All key features in the underground horror/thriller. Hardly the mainstream horror.
