when reading the DK talent shop, i found a spec that focused on using NO disease, does such a build still exist? or has it been nerfed to badly to be used anymore?
Thanks, Luke.

i'm gonna guess it was the disease-less blood rotation way back in like 3.0 or so
no it's not even close to competitive with rotations nowadays, you lose out on dots, any debuffs that go with them, and bonus damage on every strike

Just a quick 2 cents...
I decided to &*!@ around with rotations on some dummies (the boss and 3 level 80 ones) and found that a blood rotation with diseases only outperformed a rotation without diseases by about 100 DPS on AOE and 200 DPS on single target.
There's my character.
Suffice to say I'm not an idiot, I don't use retarded rotations, and my spec is good. I don't feel like posting a whole backstory to this, because A: I'm lazy and B: I said it was a quick 2c.
So, moral of the story is: if you're a lazy sod and want to mash 3 buttons, then by all means...just know that you ARE sacrificing DPS, but not as much as most DKs would have you believe. I only know this to be true of blood.
In fact, I think that a diseaseless rotation would probably outperform one with diseases in the short run (i.e. heroic trash). I'll test it. For everything else I'd recommend diseases, but hey, you *could* faceroll it if you wanted to. I guess this wasn't a quick 2c after all. Whatevs.
EDIT: It's true, diseaseless outperforms disease for about 30 seconds. A disease rotation takes a while to get rolling.

not to start anything but just curious, were your diseases doing full damage or was the dummy basically dead and only getting ridiculously low ticks of like 1-2 damage?
the difference between diseases and no diseases is diseases deal dot, any debuffs that come with them, and bonus strike damage while no diseases frees up 2 GCds for more strikes at the start and then 2 (1 with glyph of disease) more GCds for more strikes every time they would need to be refreshed
the more adds there are the more diseases outperform no diseases

The diseases in my test were dealing full damage, yes, both accounting for about 5% of my DPS (each). I did forget to consider the debuff they provide. Like I said, the whole diseaseless thing is only for the short run. I suppose my point in posting was just to say that diseaseless isn't entirely bad. Especially if you're *!@#-eyed drunk running heroics and dont want to pay attention to disease timers ;)

I just got finished running five heroics (VH AN OK UP UK). I didn't use diseases for any of the trash, only bosses. I did more than 40% of the groups' damage consistently. Personally, my DPS overall DPS was higher than when I ran heroics using diseases on every trash pull. There are my results.

Your diseaseless rotation isn't much of a diff. because you are using a death strike rotation as you might have red on the tool tip its only heals you when there is a (or multiple) disease(s) on your target, so the largest part of your damage (DC and DS) are not beeing affected by any disease, how ever the disease dots + effects will way up to the dps loss of the few extra DC's and DS's you get in longer fights.
Bottem line using diseases is better, Ghostcrawler has also posted that DK's are meant to use diseases, blizz will ofc make sure that using diseases ways up to not using them.

the diseaseless rotation is still viable, it lots of burst, however for long fights keep your diseases, i have a guildie running with the diseasless rotation and when we finish a heroic/raid i always come out on top, overall and dps. he will always start out with huge numbers due to the burst, but it's burst. good solid numbers take time and are always consistent. go with whatever you like or whatever your comfortable with.
Assuming the target lasted longer than 9 seconds, you would do more damage if you used diseases. Just because you may play with low dps classes doesn't mean diseaseless is a good idea.

diseaseless is only good if ur running very short aoe fights, such as clearing trash in a 5m or something..
like if its a 3 pull in a 5m, just DS and cleave thru them, i pulled 7k dps like that...
basically, for everythign else, go with diseases..

FYI Diseaseless Rot is OB OB HS HS HS HS HS HS HS HS with coils for runic dumps.
Using obliterate as blood is retarded . VERY RETARDED.
diseasless rotations are only good on short burst fight's ( under 10 seconds )
And napp ... srsly l2p Blood is not using obliterate since 3.1......
Blood rotation is IT PS HS HS DS DC DUMP
HS HS DS DC

well using
AM
to justify OB over DS isn't a solid arguement as it gives the same exact benefit from DS
OB does benefit from
Sv
and deals more base damage while DS benefits from
IDS
and
MoM
if glyphed and using the basic 51/0/20 build DS
is
just
better and doesn't burn up your diseases like OB as an unholy sub is just superior to a frost sup for blood
