No clothie gear protection?

Attack Power: We're removing Attack Power from items as well. Instead, we're allowing Agility to provide the necessary Attack Power for leather and mail wearers. Strength will provide the appropriate amount of Attack Power for plate wearers. This means leather and mail items will no longer be desirable for plate wearers.
It's a bit strange that they are so concerned about plate wearers rolling on rogue and hunter gear, yet there is no reason why a elemental shaman won't roll on cloth dps gear, and a holy paladin won't roll on cloth healing gear. Is this a double standard or just something they overlooked? It's hardly fair that clothies will have 1/2 or 1/3rd the gear options as other classes.

Um, this
filter
shows NO cloth gear with AP on it. There was no need to address AP cloth gear when it doesn't exist.

You completely missed the point of my post. This has nothing to do with the Attack Power changes, but rather their explanation by Blizzard. They wanted to protect leather/mail gear from plate DPS. So why aren't they showing any interest in protecting cloth gear from leather/mail/plate spellcasters?

Most cloth gear has spirit on it which is a highly undesirable talent for Holy Pally's and Ele/Resto Shamans. The only way they could fix this would be to make ALL cloth gear have spirit on it, which would limit Cloth gear to Clothies + Tree Druids. Whether that's at all plausible - I don't know. Not much of a Spirit know-it-all - I play a Pally and don't have any =].
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm going off of the blizzcon notes for the next expac:
* MP5: This will be removed from items and replaced with Spirit. All healers will be given a meditation-like ability.
* Spell Power: Spell Power is being removed from items as well. Don't panic, we'll be improving Intellect so that it provides mana and Spell Power.
* Spirit is going to be a healer stat only, it won't exist on DPS Gear. Healers need it to regen and other casters don't use it at all. (Other casters will use Intellect for Spell Power)
So basically, dps cloth gear will be attractive to Balance Druids & Elemental Shamans. Healing cloth gear will be attractive for all other healers.

What you do get is the new trading BoP things in raids they have now. Has a holy paladin beat a priest on a cloth drop? Spell power plate drops off the next boss and the priest can have his cloth back. It still isn't perfect, but at least a good raid leader will only give cloth to holy paladins when there was never any plate available anyways, so at least you don't have to watch a holy paladin wearing your cloth calling for plate to get sharded.

Did he have more DKP than you? That's also a problem, sometimes.
Not saying that a guild's sytems are always fair (or even lacking in corruption), and I'm not saying as a holy paladin 'screw everyone else, all the spell power gear is mine,' but if you aren't at raider status and you had less DKP than a veteran raider, there are plenty of plausible reasons why you didn't win an item other than unfairness.

Nice post.
They are destroying this game and all the original unique features they originally had. Dumbing it down so more people will play or what?
Yeah, destroying all the original unique features, like Strength / Spirit gear...
Get with the times; things change and it's usually for the better.

I would still steal your gear.

Blizz is reworking the way armor proficiency will work. If you're a plate wearing class, that's
all
you'll wear (instead of everything up to plate). Same goes for cloth, leather and mail wearers. Furthermore, you won't even be able to roll on binding gear that you can't equip. Bye bye ninja qq.
The only, ONLY, thing I've seen mentioned that is anything close to this is from one of the Q&As (I think) where they said something about putting something in to make Paladin Healers want to wear plate.
Of course I can't find the source anymore. MMO-Champ and Wow.com are good for getting information when it comes out, but a total *!@#$ if are trying to find older information.
Anyway, easy fix IMO. Put in an Armored to the Teeth type talent where they get X spell power per Y armor.
