What's that bit for? Genuinely interested.
I just use
#showtooltip shield slam
/cast shield slam
/cast shield block
For learning tanks i strongly reccomend
this addon. As soons as you feel confident with Tps and aoe tps, you should bind raid marks to your keyboard (i got them at f5-12, where f5 is a skull).
Although I never used it (went straight to keybound marks) I've heard it's a great addon, so I'd go with that.
The problem with this that if you order everyone to keep waiting you cant really test live your improvements. ...
So basically if everyone keep waiting 2s on thrash you may even forget you had a problem with that. Its bad for learning. As long as you struggle, you are giving 110% of your limit. If you become confident, you tend to stop trying.
Well, then that's your own fault for being lazy. You shouldn't be asking them to wait forever. Just ask them to wait until you're comfortable and then stop bothering.
Dps without specific instruction will revert to doing their own thing. They'll go at their own pace and start blowing !@#$ up much faster without your "gief time on aggro" reminders. If they pull aggro? It's no problem, you've been learning where your buttons are so your hands are going to react before your brain has finished yelling "mob going away from meeeee!"
You cant think longer than a second, you need to act asap.
Yeah, that's exactly what I said. You
don't have time to think. It's muscle memory, as I said before - your fingers essentially need to learn how to react to whatever's going on, without consulting your brain. It's not even about knowing what abilities to use - it's about where they are. It's ok saying "use this ability if x happens, or this ability if y happens" but if I don't know how to hit those abilities without thinking, it's pointless info.
Honestly, come on...if an extra 2 sec on aggro for a few runs will help you learn this stuff, and you're not holding the dps back once you're comfortable, where's the harm? 'Harder' is not necessarily 'better'.

I already wrote i am an opponent of fixed rotations so i wont comment on
hemek's post. I just dont agree with it. As for shield block. I never use it as a cooldown, i got it macroed to my shield slam, along with any trinkets for shield block i tend to have in my shield block set. That basically means i am using it for Threat, it has 100% uptime off cd. You can put power auras to show you when its up and when you need to priorities Cleave (will be freaking flowing on rage) and shield slam (double damage) over everything else. I dont have it, i guess i will need to set something.
It works for me (doing 2.1k dps on hc Cos in my t7.5 set)
Each to their own I say but a starting rotation does help - The reason I use shield block off the bat is because of
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=58874 as well - this is a great way of gaining multimob agro (i know its not a lot but every bit counts) I would love to see you tank and see what you do if you don't have at least a starting rotation
