Healing it isn't that terrible, especially if you're doing it 10-man. The thing that really makes it difficult is if the spores aren't handled properly. It really kind of bursts in two phases: Tank damage, Raid Damage, alternating. If you have a good tank healer, you should be able to handle the raid solo. Just use your CoH oh every CD, build up your Serendipity and use your PoH liberally.
I suspect, however, if you're having problems, it may all get better as you clean up your strategy with the spores. The shadow resistance you gain from them is absolutely amazing.
edit: I'm a disco priest, and I routinely do that fight with myself + 1 holy priest. 2 healing.

thanks Oscar-
the spores are with Festergut-or do I have them confused?
I was having trouble with the guy who hit party members with a disease that spawned a small slime which needed to be kited to the OT and merged with other small slimes...
and of course the rivers of slime that appeared at different corners/walls during the encounter...
Oscar mentioned the completely wrong fight.
Anyway, essentially your primary focus for the first half of the fight should be to dispel the disease ASAP. Assuming your group is organized enough, the slime should be out of the middle in plenty of time, and the damage the mini slime does is negligible compared to the hefty chunk it deals + the 50% healing debuff *as a disease.
However, towards the end, as the slime "spawn" (The disease rate) increases, you'll have to become much more situationally aware and be willing to wait for the person to be out of the middle before dispelling.
As for healing, other than that, it should be fairly straight forward. Follow the fight mechanics (Run out of a spew, spread to the outside (Preferably keeping the raid together) when the slime explodes, etc.
EDIT: *minor clarification.

Get everyone in the center ring, out of reach of the slime spills around the outside. Keep the tank up and wait for Rotface to turn around and puke on 2 or 3 of your raid members. They'll be taking quite a bit of damage here so top them off and wait for a disease to hit someone.
PW:S on the target of the disease. As Holy, with Body & Soul, your friend should be able to quickly run to the outside towards the slime tank. At this time, remove the disease and throw a ProM or other quick heal on them as they run back in. Someone should pay close attention to the slime-kiting tank as the Big Slime gets bigger. You may need to dedicate a handful of heals to the kiter.
When the slime starts to explode, get everyone to run to the outside and then collapse back into the center again. If everyone's doing their job correctly, they shouldn't take very much damage and you shouldn't have TOO much to heal.
If slime spawns are screwing everyone up and there's #$%^ running through the raid, it's not necessarily your fault and you should just wipe it and try again. This fight can easily spiral into a royal clusterf*ck if you're not careful.

Even though the small slime does hit the target after being dispelled and does a small aoe aura, it's NOTHING compared to the damage the debuff does, especially since it has a built in mortal strike effect. So dispel that debuff instantly. Also, make sure the person with the small slime doesn't bum rush INTO the big one, just have them run along side it just barely clipping the damage aura range. If you're getting hit 2 a small and a big slimes aura, the 2 will "find" each other. Then big om nom nom's little and you're good.
I'd suggest picking up body & soul for this fight (and putricide), more move speed on the small slimed target (and occasionally the big slime tank if he's having trouble) is never a bad thing.

I find this fight is very, very easy with a paladin off-tank.
Nobody dispels except the off-tank
in this scenario. Obviously without one, you have the off-tank call out the dispels, yes.
But if you've got the pally tank...the off-tank kites the slimes. Whenever someone gets hit with the disease, their priority is to run to the off-tank, who will then cure them. The off-tank then taunts the slime, too, and the formerly diseased person can go back to the raid.
Problem the last time we did this was that the off-tank just
would not
taunt slimes off, so we were having to merge slimes ourselves, but he still went down easily. Even having to kite and merge my own slime I really took very minimal damage, and off-tank damage isn't a big deal anyway.
Just make sure people move
beside
rotface when he sprays (you don't have to move far this way, just step to his side), and raid damage, too, tends minimal. It's not too hard to avoid the puddle.
Shartoth: Ahhh, angered RNG gods. The person in our raids who gets hit with a snobold on her back the most in ToGC is me, and by a rather disgustingly large amount. I get hit at least once
every time
. And they have a nasty habit of stunning me as fire drops at my feet. Our guild leader jokes that maybe I shouldn't carry so many candles.

Small Slimes aren't even kinda tauntable.
They have an automatic MASSIVE threat bump on the person they come from, you absolutely HAVE to merge them yourself.

Wow. That is so weird. That's completely the opposite of what people on my realm keep saying. WTF >.< Makes sense though.
Especially since my realm is not exactly...impressive...progression-wise.

my tip is have a dedicated healer on the slimes (priest or pala) better be a priest because pala can keep healing the tank
I do that as a disc priest, I dispell throw a shield and renew and then keep the person topped until they merge they slime with other slime
Why? Because if the people that had the slime dies the slime goes to som1 else and that person might not notice and it can cause chaos
Remember to dispel asap, well warn the person on vent let it move then dispel (it shouldn't be more than 2 secs) because that debuff causes a lot of damage and I think it reduces the healing done, after that you've to keep track if the person still has the slime or not, in beggining this is easy because the slimes come slower but in the end I would recommend using grid signaling aggro with a red square in the corner (default feature) when the square disappears is because the person merged the slime with other one
