Warriors are a very hard class to perfect but pretty easy to learn. Until you can get to Dual Wield spec in the Fury tree I much prefer staying 2hand even though I tried going DW as soon as I could on my warrior. At 30 you will get a quest for Beserker stance which leads to one for getting one of the three Whirlwind weapons, those are the best thing you can get at that level so I would recommend using those till you can get better one handers and then try out DW if you want too. Also even though you go 2 hander you don't have to go into the Arms tree, Fury is the better PvE tree while Arms is the PvP but really it won't matter that much. Don't worry about protection at all until 60+.
Also please say that you did the defensive stance quest at level 10 since that is a very needed ability to have. By 20 you should also be tanking Deadmines, even as a fury/arms spec, just for the experience of tanking. If you go Fury then go Cruelty->Unbridled Wrath->Commanding Presence.
Lastly remember even if you go 2hand keep your shield and a main hand/one hand weapon upgraded since you will need to tank sometimes.

I highly recommend reading this post:

I would tell you everything it says, but I'm working on something right now (hehe). What I have to say is all in the link above, anyway.
Let us know how you're doing when you get a little further along!
Best of luck!

remember first aid, fishing, cooking.. you need more food then any other classes, cooking food provides buffs.. and when you get fear, fear & first aid combo saves your live too many times..
QFTW. Cooking I have on my priest so I mail over to my Warrior but First Aid is a must and if this is your main I HIGHLY suggest cooking, which goes good with Fishing too. Our fear is intimidating shout in case you were wondering. Also I took Alchemy over Blacksmithing, I am able to make the rage and health potions I use up like candy, well mainly health but I do keep a stack of rage potions too.

I also find it a bit strange that some say for Human race " Stick to Elywyn Forest till you hit level 15
This is non-sense. The zone should be completed by the time you hit 10-13.
Go to Westfall from there, then go on up to Redridge Mountains & work back and forth. There are a few quests you can do around 22-24 in Darkshire.
There are no stated intentions that the Season 1 gear will be removed, however it is not impossible it could be replaced by Season 2 gear (this is unlikely). Anyone else comment on this?
Once you're around level 17-19 make sure you go back to Westfall for the Defias quest chain that leads to Edward van Cleef inside the dungeon "Deadmines".
It is often referred to as "VC" in-game, but sometimes "DM" by new players.

More often refered to as DM by OLD players actually I played way before Dire Maul was added so Deadmines was DM, VC doesn't make sense since you don't usually refere to a place by its boss, Strat and DM North were exceptions (Baron run, Tribute run) mainly because of the winged nature, but even SM you refer to as SM Lib, SM Armory, SM Cath, etc.
Anyway, back on topic, Deadmines has the gear you need, otherwise the Westfall quest lines have some decent one handers for your level and the lighthouse off the coast has a good enough shield which lasted me till Darkshire where you get a pretty decent one.
Here is my Human progression path:
1-10/11 Elwynn
10-15 Westfall
15-20 Westfall/Redridge
20-24 Redridge
24-I want to quit playing again Duskwood (Darkshire) but sometimes I go to Wetlands just to avoid it

I played long before Dire Maul as well.
Most
old players are unlikely to refer to it as DM - times have changed. Originally we all called it DM, but origin of the acronym was not the point, =)

There's nothing wrong with being a newbie, be proud of the fact you have such a great opportunity to learn without as much trial & error! You'll enjoy things much better with a great support base.
That said, any more questions or issues not covered in the forums, feel free to ask & you won't be ostracized.

Whether they replace or remove the Season 1 gear is irrelevant. There will always be items of that standard around for players. Arena is not going out of style any time soon. If you're in love with the model of the armor set, do not worry - the same models are used for Tier 4 items, =)
Simply do not worry about it for now, but relax in the fact that the quality of gear as Season 1 will not be going anywhere.
Enjoy your leveling experience & have fun, =)

I was more just kidding with ya, and yes DM has become Dire Maul now, though to me it is still Deadmines.
I also agree on the S1 vs S2 gear, once S4 starts they may make change what is honor purchasable, or they may not, they may also say "Why bother changing it since Wrath is coming out before S5 even starts?", until Blizzard announces it we just won't know.
