As others will ALWAYS tell you, strength is useless for prot pallies.
If you just want to AOE, neglect ALL stats besides +Spell damage , Stamina, Intellect
Spell damage makes so much of a difference with consecrate
It gets hard if you are trying to be a tank @ 70...you have to worry about Stamina, Defense, Block Rating, Parry, Dodge, Block Value, Intellect, Spell Damage, spell resistances

not true, it's your best singl mob threat builder before you get spell damage from tBC items

Spell damage makes so much of a difference with consecrate
You're putting too much pressure on spell damage
Stamina should be your first priority

-Heal yourself EARLY and OFTEN. We are the most mana-efficient healing class in the game. Switch your aura to Concentration and cast Flash of Light a couple times. Don't worry about getting hit while healing yourself, we can wear plate.
Worst idea I have ever heard for a prot paladin.
Especially without spiritual focus...
Protection paladin is as efficient in healing as a shaman is in tanking
with right gear and luck, maybe
my holy light takes 880 mana and i have a 6k mana pool
OOM in 7 heals lol
-Look to increase your +Intellect and +Spelldamage whenever possible.
Stamina is your first priority
We don't have the brute strength of a warrior or the agility of a rogue.
Rogues don't tank, except that few times when the tank dies with the boss at 1% and the rogue uses evasion.
We use seals and judgements to do our damage. Don't overlook +Intellect gear and get stuck with a bunch of Warrior gear that only gives you +Strength.
While it is true that int > str, if the warrior gear has more stamina on it, I'll take that any day.
We rely heavily on mana to get by, you need to have a deep mana pool to draw from, it is the only single thing that will keep you alive and keep the other guy dead.
or if you invest your item points in stamina, you won't have to worry about healing yourself in order to kill the opponent
There are plate armor items, weapons and shields in the game that have +Intellect on them just for us, so use them.
they are better suited for holy paladins imo
I'll be frank, a pally that is OOM is as good as a Warrior about half his level.
>.>
mana pot if you OOM
Seal of Wisdom/Judgement of Wisdom should return enough mana for you to at least consecrate
i kept aggro with 0 mana before, it's not fun, but it's easy with enough coordination
-I personally think your gear stat priority should go:
1) Intellect
2) Stamina
3) Strength
Stam > intellect
I'm not sure why Strength is even on the table unless it's pre-BC
Agility > strength btw..
-We all have to accept sooner or later that we are a hybrid/utility class that is TYPICALLY used for healing/support or secondary tanking in the endgame.
No wonder you say "get int"
you're close minded...
even if you say "TYPICALLY" you caved into healing it seems...
Our utility and survivability is what makes us so special. Everyone wants us around but never wants to be us, and the bad guys don't want to see us.
One thing that you've said and made sense...
We are called Priests in Plate for a reason.
ahahahahahah
