Yes I do mean exactly that. What you choose is your personal opinion as to which is better if scientific "theorycraft," if you will, shows them to be equal.

My analogy just meant to point out that opinion can only attest to the state of something in so far as it is well informed. "Combat is more betterer and does more damages" is, after actually looking at the theorycrafting that went in to these builds, is not a well informed opinion and therefore does not attest to the state of the builds.
The same can be said of a hypothesis and an experiment. A hypothesis can only successfully aid in the formulation of an experiment given that it's premises are accurate and informed.
IF you want to take combat purely because you enjoy, not because of any theorycrafting or min/max dps, than by all means, it should be done.
@OP
I suggest you spec for your gear/weapons, and if that changes, respec.
You have a caster sword.... I am not sure where that fits in to any rogue spec.
Secondly you want a slow MH and fast OH.
Thirdly... Based on your gear and how you are talking about the speccing it does not look like you read the stickies, not to mention the tooltips.

I just tried switching out some gems and getting a new meta gem. I did 10 man os earlier today and i topped the charts with over 4k dps and 3.4k dps overall. Now i'm starting to do ulduar 10 and 25 with my guild because i broke 4k dps. I will most likely get most of the rogue gear because the rogue in my guild got replaced by me.

Alright. Dude. Seriously it is 2:30 in the morning and reading through this thread and your posts gave me a headache. I tried to go back to college science and philosophy just to understand what you were saying. I think there is something to be said about using more words to describe a situation where a single big word could be used. Simply put explain yourself. What you did was similar to my College Philosophy Proff that gave us 3 hours to write our final. The question was "Why?" I sat there for 10 minutes put my name on the paper said "Why not?" and turned it in. Anyways back to the OP
@ OP
If you think your damage is ludicrously high turn off the raid buffs that you dont normally have. I know that if you turn of 4-5 raid buffs then you can go from 6K down to 4K. As far as mutilate vs combat. I have seen great numbers for both although I have seen higher combat numbers than my muttilate but this guy was also BiS everything Pre-Ulduar. So he had a right to be pushing more DPS than I was. Basically Do what feels right for you. I will probably be muttilate for awhile just because I am comfortable with it and it still out DPS almost all other classes.
And to those of you that made comments on his armory link if you would have read his entire post he said that he logged off with it on and in the same paragraph said what weapons he actually uses. Quit trolling
