Multi-quoting

I would like an option of "multi-quoting" easily. Like a button next to the quote button, named multi-quote or some such thing, adding quotes all untill you finally clicked the original quote-button to finish up and go to the edit-box.
Alternately that the existing quote-button added a quote to the edit-box down below, but that would make for some strangeness when flipping pages in a thread I think.

I find that copy and paste works just as well.

It nowhere near works "just as well". It works, but a lot more hassle.

I have on a few occasions found myself hitting the quote button a second time, and found I had deleted what I had written. This is a good idea.

Didn't I make a post months ago asking you to change the quote button to += instead of = ?

Wowhead needs a dedicated forum features developer imo.
We haven't had any forum upgrades in oh, so long!

Yes, yes, but you know, people don't listen to you ;-)

And thanks Mal. I'm looking forward to ever better features and services from you all :-)

Sorry to bring an old topic back to life, but I was just annoying myself over this again today. Any chance of a progress report?

If we were to get a dedicated forum features developer, it would probably be a week before we were pulling him in to work on database issues. :D
Just by way of example: today, I would love to make the quote box change, but there is ALSO an issue with a bunch of the drops in the late raid bosses being totally missing. I think it's pretty clear where priority has to go, you know?

You guys have really had no time to add a + before an = since June?

Yes yes... just politely asking :-)
Besides, who cares about the raidbosses anyhow... that's sooo 2009.

Well ya, but you'd think someone could pop over into your javascript, add the + sign in the appropriate place, and then hit "save" :P Hell, you could do it on your lunch break while munching on a sandwich AND playing WoW >_<
edit:
Specifically, I believe it would involve changing the = sign in the following tagged line in your forums.js to +=
...
if (c) {
var a = gE(c, "textarea");
if (d == 1 && b != null && b.user != null && b.body != null) {
>>> a.value = "" + b.body + "\n\n"
}
setTimeout((function () {
this.focus()
}).bind(a), 25)
}
...
edit 2:
I was going to give you a line number too, but well... Obfuscated code makes me cry with sad ;_;

This has been done as Wanderingfox suggested (thanks!). It's not live yet but it should be in the near future.

I assume you're the 'dedicated forum features developer' ? XD

Awesome. I can't wait.

Fix is live. Hitting 'quote' will now add the quote to the existing text in the text box.
