Mountain Dew

Maybe a bit behind the times here, but as I was leaving the store today, I decided to buy the WoW themed Mountain Dews. Got one of each to taste them back to back and see the difference.
What I discovered was a parallel to WoW itself.
The Alliance flavor and the Horde flavor are extremely similar to the point where the difference between them is largely inconsequential. It's there, but you have to be looking for it to find it. Just like WoW itself, to prefer one flavor over the other is entirely personal. One is not better than the other.
I found that I slightly prefer the Horde flavor, which is interesting because in WoW, I slightly prefer playing my Horde characters to my Alliance ones.

Some people really love mountain dew, mostly due to the addictive nature of the caffeine contained in it. People will buy it regardless of what's on the label.
But cross-promotion is a very popular marketing technique, they don't do that in europe?
And Sunwing, I find that kind of interesting. :)

Commercial fails.
This will probably not get in most Europe countries (which is not a bad thing)
Appearantly stuff like that (milking money out of people because it has a certain trademark involved) works well in the US....
Personally i find this pathetic.
Why is it so pathetic? People do it all of the time in every industry. Why? For the company it makes more money, however, why the consumer chooses to buy the product because of it's label should also be examined.
In my opinion, it's because people use logic (which doesn't always work), and reasoning to buy the product. For example, if one were to like WoW and Mt. Dew, maybe they'd buy the drinks. I like WoW, but hate Mt. Dew, and thus didn't buy the drink. Coca Cola probably marketed Mt. Dew to WoW players because statistics show that many gamers drink Mt. Dew. Thus, it makes sense to label a product with something that they're familiar with. On the flipside, gamers often drink Mt. Dew, and as a result might be interested with a product that Coke labels with something game related. In the Mt. Dew example, they also tried to symbolize the dynamic between Horde and Alliance, which takes it even a step further.
I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just arguing a different point of view. I don't think it's pathetic at all for companies to market in such a way, or for consumers to spend in such a way. It happens all the time in other industries as well: Star Wars Monopoly, movies made after games/books, etc.

Personally, I'm only a casual drinker of Mountain Dew (in fact I rarely drink any soda). Bought them on a whim because I like WoW, and wanted to see the difference in the flavors.

I LOVE GAME FUEL.
Honestly, I don't play WoW without a bottle.
I prefer the Horde kind myself, it's the original and was previously released with one of the Halo games.
The Alliance one is good, but not as good. That blue is awesome though. Feels like I'm drinking a mana potion.

As I said in my last post, the Horde flavor was originally released with Halo 3(I think) so this proves your statement.
Sorry for the double post.

I don't know how you think they taste the same? You must not drink mountain dew much.
I'm alliance all the way, but I have to be honest, I think the horde flavor tastes better.
