It's going to be difficult already for cooldown reasons, and even more if the adds that can dispell CC are there. Other possibilities are to kite them with a mage or fear them with pallies (but there's a risk of resetting the encounter if they exit the room).
If you don't have permanent control (ie shackles), then just use whatever you have until you can down enough adds to then keep them cc'ed.

Yes it is possible, on my guild when we started doing kara we have 2 hunters that they trap 2 of the adds, but it is risky because of resists and cd issue on traps. It is better if you do perma trap 1 add and perma shackle 1 add, that will be better (besides you should bring atleast a spriest for extensive dps and mana battery for your casters/healers).

Advice for trapping during Moroes:
1. Drop your trap and wait for the cooldown. Pull before the 1 minute timer is up.
2. Use the entire room. When the add comes out, drop your trap if you can, concussion shot and scatter shot to gain an extra few seconds. Keep yourself at max range the entire time trapping.
3. Run to the other side of the room and be ready to repeat.
4. Profit.

when we started kara we had 2 priests and a hunter,
but cause one priest was holy the schackles got resisted a lot,
but we never had any problems with the hunter traps whatsoever
tough that hunter of ours does quite sucky dps when he traps something somehow it never ever seems to break out of his controll

I used to drive myself crazy as a holy priest trying to keep shackles from breaking. I'd wear the scryer's gem and other hit gear. Waste of effort time/effort. Now I just liberally re-apply shackles every 8 seconds or so, between heals, since it's a mana-cheap spell. Just make sure you use a focus/shackle macro.

We've done it without a priest several times by using one or two hunters. We can also offtank one with one of the tanks on moroes and/or fear one with paladin's turn undead. The fearing bit is risky as u might have the add running out of the room resetting the event. But it will come down to gear in the end. The overall raid quality of gear will determine how easily you can control the adds.

Grats to you on having a good hunter that understands that his function can be more than simple dps. Keep him happy they're hard to come by.
When a hunter is on trap duty his damage will fall if he is going to maintain maximum control of the trapped target. It is important for hunters to understand that the groups survival is more important than having his or her name shining on top of the damage meters. It is also possible to spec for improved traps and this might gimp damage a bit. Just a possible reason for this guy's damage output.
