Your rotation seems fine. You can work a starfall in there since starfall crits and then you get the Nature's Grace proc. I have 2.2k SP and do about 3.5k - 4k dps.
My rotation is as follows
Boss fights,
Moonfire
Insect Swarm
Force of Nature
Typhoon
Starfall
Wrath till eclips
Starfire till eclips and then wrath again
I keep Moonfire and Insect swarm up at all times ( only on boss fights ) and use Force of Nature, Starfall and Typhoon as soon as CD is over.
Mob fights,
Starfall
wrath till eclips
starfire till eclips
or
Starfall
Hurricane
The glyph's I use : Focus, Insect swarm and Moonfire

What I love about Moonkins and ferals is that you can always improve your rotation and it it always changing. Depending on your gear, you can actually tweak it based on set bonuses. I will actually let IS come down for a couple seconds if I am casting starfire during an eclipse, but I don't let moonfire come down at all. With the two set bonus of your MF being able to crit AND with the relic procs of increasing crit rating, it's no good letting it come down. The only benefit you get from IS when it's up is a slight damage buff, which is good, but isn't worth missing out on almost two casts of wrath or a full cast of starfire, IMO of course.
Also, something else I like doing when the sitation allows, is because setting up for a moonkin takes a while, I will let my treants and starfall do to work as I am getting into position and getting FF, MF and IS up. It's ALOT of damage you can do while winding up to your max dps. Just make sure your tank can handle it. if you do all that really fast, it's a ton of damage and threat.

I keep IS swarm up since I have the T bonus that gives it 10% more damage and with the glyph its another 30%. I'm probable wrong by keeping it up since most people don't do it and the FAQ says not to refresh MF/IS during eclips.
I know glyph of focus is not the preferred one on all threads, that's why I said I'm using .... glyphs. I find focus more advantageous than glyph of SF since I use starfall allot on mobs until boss fight and the range reduction reduces overpull to 0. Imho not using starfall on mobs is a waste since its a great spell and with the glyph you gain damage and reduce range which is perfect for fights until boss. On boss fights the extra damage is really not bad.
Well that's the great thing of wow, we can all have our different ways of playing and still do decent dps.
With my "fail" rotation I do about 3.5k dps on boss target dummy. Usually over 4k on mobs ( in heroic dungeons ) and I do this with 1.4k latency :D

Am I the only one who actually looked at his spec?
I don't think the problem is rotation as much as it is your spec.
He is using
this
. This is not very good, not very good at all. (You are also using no glyphs)
Now your restoration tree is built fine, but in the balance tree things go awry.
This knocked it on the head. You spec is pretty bad Pitchy. Follow the link I gave you in my first post, that's the druid FAQs, and it answers all of your questions.

To the OP
Start as u said (IS, MF) then SF til eclipse procs. This is because of the SF glyph. (extra MF = more dps). Also, take the glyph of moonfire not focus. Dont use Starfall until solar eclipse procs if u want to maximise dps.Actually it's better to start with wrath since the time to proc lunar is slightly lower than the time to proc solar. (yes, we've all had bad streaks but that doesn't really matter on long terms perspective)
There's also the fact that with WiseEclipse, you can go optimally from lunar into solar (ie the first cast into solar will be a wrath), so there's no point to start non-optimally with a solar eclipse.

Wanted to echo this, the difference in dps from starting with a specific Eclipse was minimal... until WiseEclipse came along. It's still nothing major, but Eclipse up-time will be higher in the long run if you start with Lunar.

I'm currently using
this
spec for Moonkin. I don't use Dreamstate or Intensity because I don't need it. I have around 31% crit self buffed in Moonkin form so in raids I'm a total crit chicken and get tons of mana back from casts ;-)
My rotation normally goes like this:
Faerie Fire
Insect Swarm
Moonfire
Wrath
>
Eclipse
>
Refresh Moonfire if it's running out
Starfire Spam
>
Eclipse
>
Refresh Insect Swarm
Repeat
I'll also add in Starfall and pop trinkets in between or when the target is vulnerable. Typhoon is just an added bonus for some fights like XT for instance and I use it quite often on single targets.
On average my DPS is around 5 - 5.5k
This suits me best :-)
I'd recommend an addon called Squawk and Awe. It's really nice for keeping an eye on your cooldowns. You can get it
here
from curse.
Good Luck and hope you find a spec and rotation that suits you best. Have fun on your chicken :-)

I leave out one point from Improved Insect Swarm, but that's just my preference.
One of it's uses for raiding is loose mobs that are attacking me, my healer, or other dps toons. The few seconds that those mobs
aren't
hitting a player while the tank/OT rounds them back up has saved many a life.
I personally keep it because I'm not raiding 100% of the time, I also instance and solo. So the 1 point is worth it to not have to sacrifice my dual spec.

I still dont get why ppl take Typhoon for raiding...
Where can you sacrifice a point to make it worth while?
i recently took 1 point out of intensity and put it in typhoon. i just found myself lacking a real finisher. that, and i was so used to my warlocks shadowfury. for raiding, its not really a HUGE boost, mainly for trash, or adds, or another spell to use when youre moving.
i have not as of yet glyphed typhoon to get rid of the knockback, mianly because i find it greatly amusing. :)
