hi , thinking of taking mining & herbalism as proffessions for my alt , has anybody ever done this & does it work well ?
i have the gatherer add-on which should help with tracking ( i believe) but just wondered if anybody else has successfully done this ? thx for your time

It sounds perfectly viable, and probably quite profitable.
However, you won't have any of the crafting profession bonuses (Sockets, tinkers, cloak/wrist/ring enchants) But, you'll be able to make alot of gold.

mmmm maybe need to think , my main dude is lvl 78 priest with topped out alchemy/herbalism so am i being greedy but as u all probably aware while picking herbs theres always ore within a few feet , my idea was to ditch herbilism on my priest & take JC ,start a fresh with herbalism on new dude with mining, which should give good mats for both alchemy & jewelcrafting.
i think it could work well ( ive talked myself round the idea lol ) but thoughts welcome

I pick up mining and herbalism on almost all my alts. I highly suggest getting the
Spotter
addon, it's amazing, and automatically switches between your two tracking modes, without you having to worry about change them.
You can get the addon from Curse. :)
Good luck and have fun.

I have a level 80 rogue alt with mining/herbalism and I make a ton of gold by farming Wintergrasp for an hour or two a day. Titanium for my JC'er, herbs for my alchemist(s)....and frost lotus. I average 5 a day. Yesterday I used the 5 and got 4-4 procs...18 flasks at 30g a piece. Also prospected a stack of titanium and got 2 epic gems....275 there plus 550 or so for the flasks.
Not a bad day for 1.5 hours work.
