Mining a vein

Me and my friend are about to start playing WoW. I plan to pick a warrior and he will be a palidan. Ive read the profession guides and they recommend blacksmithing + mining as a good one for warriors. I decided at that but since my friend wants to be jewlcrafting, that is also paired with mining. So now im wondering what should we do? I am pretty sure we cant mine from the same vein because when I played the trial, it dissappeared after 1 time. Any recommendations of what a warrior and palidan should take up?
P.S- I know my spelling sucks.

Blacksmithing and Jewelcrafting are both great profs to have. I reccomend that you take Mining and BS, and your friend takes JC and another gathering prof. Herbalism is a nice one. That way you can mine mats for both of you (kinda redundant trading off viens, you'll be lvling the profs at the same rate anyway). And his Herbalism can cover the cost of buying stacks of ore to prospect for gems once he gets 450 JC. Glyphs are still in high demand, and low level stacks of herbs required for a lot of the popular glyphs sell high, and fast.
Why spend two hours mining Saronite to maybe get the gems you need, when you can farm for a half hour, get twice as much gold in the long run, and buy exactly what you need?
A friend and I use a similar strategy. I have Herb / Alch and he has Scribe / Enchanting. I get more than enough Herbs for both of us, and give him free flasks. He gives me free enchants and makes me glyphs whenever I need them.
